This pic was 15$ with a sweet tea, asked for steak taco and got this shredded stew beef. I would have sent it back an went else where had I not been on a time crunch. Atmosphere was great and seems like a great night life kinda area. Food not so much just my opinion

Mexican food is my thing and I really like this restaurant. It doesn’t have your average Mexican food items and I think their website describes them best: Creative Mexican dishes with a global twist & cocktails in a funky space with brick archways. In this case, creative means DANG GOOD! The cocktails are just as interesting and I love sitting outside people watching and enjoying the great weather while I hang out with friends. The restaurant is warm, cozy, and a little edgy. Check them out when you’re in Tuscaloosa. I would tag this as one of the 10 median priced restaurants that you need to try while in Tuscaloosa. Be sure to try their street corn appetizer. Sooo good! Let me know what you think!

This was not my first visit to Central Mesa (but it’s been a while – about a year), so I was quite disappointed that the food was not good. Started with the Street Corn appetizer and I’m not sure if they changed the way it’s prepared, but while it wasn’t bad, it definitely was not what I remember. There was no WOW! factor and I remember that being the thing about Central Mesa – everyone tells you if you go, get the corn – and I can say, there was nothing memorable about the corn.

The food has changed. I miss the old cheese dip with the pickled onions and brisket. Everything we got was too spicy and not flavorful, just hot. We won’t be coming back.. which is sad because central mesa used to be my favorite place. the waiter and staff were awesome though

The street tacos are literally made for 3 year olds. They are one bite. If u say street taco, at least give me a normal sized taco especially for 4 freaking dollars. I WONT be back!

I had a really nice time here. The bartender didn’t really say too much but he was super nice. I had a dirty martini and it was perfect. The jalapeño margarita was good too I did enjoy my food but everything seemed to be a little undercooked. I loved the ambiance of the place. Varying relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely return.

My coworkers and I went there on a work trip and every one of us liked what we got. The best part was the three types of salsa we got for happy hour and the drinks. But the food was amazing! Definitely getting the Mahi bowl next time.

The food here is excellent. The drinks were very good too. The street tacos are a must. I would also recommend the trio of dips. I don’t know which of the three I liked the best. They were all good. I will be going back here.

We had no wait at all on a Sunday summer afternoon. I had the Huevos Rancheros and my husband had the Hot Chicken and Waffle. They were only serving brunch when we went. The waitress did a good job of making sure there was no cilantro in my food which I asked for. She even had them bring me potatoes instead of rice when she realized they put cilantro in the rice. We did run out of water and have to wait a little while for more and the portions were a little smaller than expected, but overall a good experience.

We were just on our way through and really appreciate good tacos and atmosphere and this place surprised us. Loved the decor and having younger children with us, we were thrilled that everything that everyone ordered was delicious!! We got the appetizer nachos, the mahi bowl, street tacos and the dessert churros…all were we are not big on the southern states and the food here, generally, but this Mexican place may have changed our minds Don’t forego this place just because its in Alabama!!
