Excellent is an understatement! Loved this place. Damn good sandwiches & baked goods. Sourdough brownie was so rich & has unique flavor. Lemon bar was too good, so was the star cookie. They use house made bread, which is superb. A hidden gem & must visit. Their English muffin starter is over 50 years old.

Can’t give this place a 5 star because not all of the food is great. We got the certified breakfast sandwich, a corque madame and a snickerdoodle. The certified was great, it is an extremely tasty breakfast sandwich. The madame was good but the spicy mustard that is used has pockets that can make you grab your water when bitten into, so just be careful. The snickerdoodle was a slight let down, it was soft and chewy but had a very lemon taste, not really a fan of lemon in my sweet treats.

This place blew me away. It was so much better than I expected! My husband got the certified breakfast sandwich with the house made English muffins and it was SO good, too! I said to my husband, this is what food is supposed to be like! Just good, honest, made with love food. Everything was so flavorful and everyone was so kind. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love this place. The “Certified” a definite. Took a chance and ordered the brisket and sadly still regret it. Texture and flavor I liken to mudd. The bread it was delivered on, a different story. Light, crispy and chewy. Pickled onion a plus but limited and not enough to rescue the interpretation. We tried the GF coconut/choc chip treat, blueberry bar and of course the certified breakfast sandwich. The breakfast sandwiches are served on homemade English muffins. Do yourself a favor and have one, as a sandwich, with butter and jam or take 1/2 dozen home for later. They are SOO good. Both pastries that we tried we very good. The blueberry bar is enormous. The line can sometimes be very long, but it is worth the wait. Take your order to go and explore the Hyde Park area or Camel’s Back park a few blocks away.
