I’ve been wanting to try this place for so long! Best mexican food in town. Very authentic. I went on wednesday and they had tacos for 1.5$ only! The price was amazing and I was very satisfied with the service.

Restaurant appeared to be very clean and fresh but it’s new. Service was prompt. Menu is quite basic typical Mexican food. Missing is some of the unusual dishes offered at some other places. Food was hot and fresh and serving sizes were average. Burrito was smaller than some places. Ordered a coke expecting a fountain coke, instead I was given a can 12 ounces and a cup of ice, 3.00! A horchata drink was 4.00. A burrito meal with rice and beans and enchilada meal with the two drinks was 36.00 before tip. Overall I don’t think it’s a very good value considering portion sizes and the simplicity of the food. There are better places more offerings and better prices to be had in Lafayette. Does this look like 45.00 worth of food after tip to you? You decide.

Was invited up from Indy by our son, who lives in Lafayette, to try this quaint little place. Mari, our host, let us sit anywhere (we chose the large window room table) and not only was the service fast and friendly, the dinners were authentic and delicious. This is now the place we’ll meet whenever we’re in town for a visit.

I’m from out of town. While in Lafayette, I was looking online for a Mexican restaurant and found Chaparritos. It was nearby and is highly rated. At the time, those criteria were most important. When we arrived at 4:45, we were the only two there to dine. I wondered if we had made the best choice. Immediately, we were greeted and seated by a very nice young lady. Seconds later, a young man brought chips and salsa to our table. The chips were good, the salsa was GREAT. We had dinners (tacos and tostadas) with rice and beans. The food is very good. What impressed me most about this establishment was the service and the atmosphere. It’s a family-run restaurant and to me it is evident there’s a lot of love in everything they do. At about 5:00, the place began to fill up and by 5:20 every table was occupied and there were people waiting to be seated. Perhaps a half dozen people picked up to-go orders while we were there. Obviously, this is a very popular place for dinner right after getting off work. I whole-heartedly recommend Chaparritos. I highly recommend you get there before the rush. The next time I’m in town, I will return.
