On Saturday July 2023 ,, we dined at Char in Red Bank . We decided to sample their appetizers and ordered five. Tracey ordered four oysters. We ordered the crazy corn which is a unique take on street corn and came with two shrimp skewers . Very very tasty!! Lamb chop with chutney were cooked just perfect for my taste.

Great service and atmosphere. Our server was amazing and very attentive. She also gave great recommendations with food. They have amazing calamari and really good steaks. Overall the food was good except for the Lobster mac and cheese. I personally was not a fan of their Lobster mac and cheese, I expected better taste and more cheese. Their desserts are also great. This is a fancy atmosphere so get ready to pay a little more than any other restaurants.

2/14/23: Been here for restaurant week a few yrs ago. My spouse was here in December ’22 and we came again for Valentine’s day this year. They have a good menu of wines and food. Lots of steaks. They have a surf and turf. We got the lollipop lamb chops, steak, and twin lobster tails. They have a wide assortment of teas and coffee. We got a dessert special of chocolate strawberries and a regular dessert of cookies with ice cream. They gave us a red carnation and there was a wall of balloons in the lobby. You need a reservation here or be prepared to return and eat late. Their Cabernet and Riesling are really good. Very nice staff every time. 7/2/23 we sat on the 2nd level which is smaller and quieter. Ice cream: chocolate, vanilla, & strawberry. Sorbet: mango, raspberry, & lemon.

I was in the mood for a good burger, checked out Char’s menu and decided to give the Char Broiler a shot. Excellent burger, cooked to my liking, very tasty, nice size, the brioche bread was slightly toasted, delicious! All plates ordered were very tasty including dessert.

Best steak house in the area hands down. Plenty of parking (paid all year round thanks Red Bank!) Easy walk to the steakhouse which has a wonderful interior. Hostess and waiter were super nice and the seating was immediate (reservation was a must). Cocktails were fantastic I had the Char Smoke which knocked my socks off. Apps looked delicious, I regret trying the French onion soup it was a bit bland I missed out on the prosciutto burratta crostini. Steaks were top notch as expected cooked perfectly and the sides were ample for the price. You pay for quality here and you won’t be disappointed

Brought my daughter for a seafood lunch….or so I thought. Ordered the Seafood Tower for 2. We were expecting a tower of seafood. It was all shaved ice. Not joking. 2 pieces of lobster. A tail the size of your thumb and 1 claw. Yes…1!. 4 clams, 4 oysters, 4 shrimp (not jumbo) and small misc stuff for decoration. I was shocked. I asked to speak to chef to make sure we had everything. He said we did. Not even a full shrimp cocktail. Not even 6 clams or 6 oysters. All for the price of $60. I was mortified and felt disgusted and ripped off but I held it together for my daughter.
