The food is good but I don’t think 2 sandwiches 2 fries and 2 drinks should cost $31 that’s highway robbery. The world shutting down for a year means everyone suffered not just businesses. Donating 10 cents for every meal is a slap in the face, and anyone who buys more than $30 worth of food is charged $1 for a cup of courtesy water and $1.50 for the larger cup of courtesy water. This is one of the biggest problems in this country and businesses!!! This is the American dream and capitalism at its best!!!

The older guy that works there is super rude, not sure if he is the manager. I ordered the regular Philly cheesesteak combo 2 days in the row, second day I come back he tries to charge me more. I tell him I want my fries large he says it’s only 1 size that comes with the combo, in addition I’m a mall employee and mall employees get 10% discount at food court, he says he works there 7 days a week and he doesn’t give discounts when he is on the register. The young lady working yesterday saw me in uniform and automatically gave me the discount. Yesterday I paid $13 and some change today he tried to charge me almost $17 for the exact same meal. I politely declined and walked off. That guy needs to be replaced he has no customer service skills whatsoever and a staring problem! I love Charlie’s Cheese Steaks some people are just bad for business and as long as he is there I will never go back!

I ordered the Old School Philly Cheese Fries, it was towards the bottom where I realized there was not enough cheese. When I went back to the counter the cook /manager got an attitude with me because I asked for more. Then I asked for water and the proceeded to give me some out of the sink. I am highly disappointed and will not be returning.

I wanna get the bad stuff out the way first. So the prices here are a bit more than most sub sandwich places, but boy is it worth it! I’ve been coming to this place for years. I wish there were more locations. I moved out of Gurnee and one of the places I miss is Charley’s. The food is always fresh and very flavorful. The subs are stuffed with meat. This isn’t your typical sub place. So if you like hot fresh good food. This place is worth checking out. It’s one of the few places that the food looks like the pictures.

Charlie’s is by far one of the best Philly steak restaurants around. The staff at the Gurnee location were very polite and understood my order correctly the first time. The grill and prep table was clean as I got to watch my food being cooked. I am looking forward to my next visit!

Both mine and my fiance’s orders were very messed up where there were food items on our sandwiches that we specifically wrote in the special instructions to not put on them. For example, I specifically wrote no tomatoes and mayo for my sandwich and there were tomatoes and lots of mayo but no lettuce on my sandwich! The reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 was because the lemonades were decent and we had a fast delivery. This was the first time I tried Charley’s and am not that impressed.
