Great steak sandwich. My friend’s meal came in a small cast iron pot and was still hot even 20 minutes later. Local atmosphere. Bartender works to stay as attentive to everyone’s needs as he can. Would recommend.

The ribeye was wonderful. Great quality and preparation. Tender, juicy, flavorful and cooked perfectly. The brava sauce on the potatoes was a nice surprise. My girlfriend had an off the menu special which was a sturgeon filet with asparagus and au gratin potatoes which she loved. The bartender Morrison was also a delight to talk to. We will definitely be back.

We stopped here for dinner and couldn’t have been happier. The decor and atmosphere are very coastal – lots of brightly colored art and bamboo used in the bar. The staff was friendly and the food was fantastic. The chowder was incredible, and the Salmon Club Sandwich was full of flavor. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you enjoy seafood and are in Astoria.

A wonderful undiscovered gem. Excellent food! Great retro atmosphere. I had a great blackened salmon with some of the best potatoes augratin I’ve ever had. My wife had an amazing savory mushroom chicken. For a starter we had pate and and spicy grilled shrimp. A great place to have a great meal.

My husband and I have traveled all over the nation as well as internationally and everywhere we go we eat at different places, even ones listed on TV shows. Even though it is two years since our visit we talk about Charlies as the best place we ever ate! Phenomenal food, the unbelievable service and a laid back atmosphere. We recommend it often as somewhere to go and we wanted you to know that we are now in Pennsylvania and still talk about what an awesome experience it was! All hail the chef and we will get back West and go again someday!

Cool atmosphere and vibe. I appreciate restaurants with creativity and try to mix things up a little. I felt like Charlie’s was trying to do that but unfortunately didn’t work out too well. Didn’t like the sauces they had on the prawns appetizer or either steak we ordered. The people there were kind but the service was not very good. I ordered medium rare and my husband ordered medium and they mixed them up. Unfortunately, we couldn’t switch since they weren’t the same. They also didnt bring out the side that came with the meal and we had to ask for napkins and silverware. It was my sons 10th birthday (no kids menu by the way) and they were great about getting a candle and dessert together for him. That was definitely the best part of the meal. I highly recommend the cookie with ice cream on top. Probably wouldn’t go there again.

Decor is thrift store meets cabin in the woods. Nice homey comfortable feel. Brussel sprouts are amazing, coming from a girl that doesn’t really like Brussels sprouts. Our server was quirky and fun. I would recommend this place for reasonably priced dinner. Steaks were cooked to perfection.

We took the 5 kids on our mini vacation. It was amazing. Both my hubby and I had the BEST grilled cheese sandwiches we have EVER had. The kids loved it. It was affordable. They were very nice there. I wish I could go back. I crave their grilled cheese all the time.

Charlie’s is one of my new favorites in Astoria. Took a chance on a new place and I was not disappointed. Many restaurants advertise “artisan burgers” but Charlie’s actually delivers a superb burger. I also ordered a margarita and it was the best ones I’d had in some time. Fantastic!
