This was our first time at Charlie’s Steakhouse and it certainly won’t be our last. Most of our friends have been recommending this place for years. It’s an old-school steakhouse with a great feel. They do not use menus and really have no need. The servers know it by heart and easily recite the items. They also give great recommendations. The food is great, really cooked well. The service is super friendly and efficient and the prices are very reasonable. We will be back.

I chose Charlie’s to celebrate my birthday because I had been thinking about their 32oz T-bone. It had been a few years since we last visited Charlie’s (mainly because of a move to the Northshore); but I’m glad to report the experience was as GREAT as ever! Parking wasn’t a problem (we used their parking lot). We were able to be seated prior to our reservation time. Our server, Christine, was very knowledgeable and attentive. The steaks, 32oz T-bone and 18oz Ribeyes, and sides were wonderful! Cooked to our preferences. Overall, it was a GREAT experience!! Thanks!!

First night in town and we started looking for amazing steak. We found Charlie’s in the back of an old neighborhood. You first walk in it seems just like a regular little bar and then you venture up some steep steps to the upstairs restaurant. Our waitress was Christine. Who is a ball of energy. You really only go by waitress suggestions because there really is no menu. The ribeye had amazing flavor and was served perfectly. Of course I could not finish it. We tried a bunch of sides and my fave would have to be the potatoes and the asparagus. We also tried the salad wedge with the blue cheese and it was very good and the blue cheese is very blue if that’s what you like: which i loved . Overall very underrated restaurant that has made its way to be one of my favorites! I just want them to get more interesting desserts. Ambiance was cool and quiet .had family’s there and date night going on. Will return

This was our choice for a night on the town! We had a group of 8, and I recommend getting reservations. We were sat upstairs with Bobby as our server. It’s true that they don’t have a menu to look at…it’s all verbal. They do have a drink menu with some great choices. One appetizer option- onion strings – YES! Choose your cut of steak & they had 7 side options to choose from… we went with Wedge salad with lumpy blue cheese, Crab Potatoes Au Gratin (you could get original too), creamy spinach, grilled asparagus & mushrooms. Each side feeds about two people. They did have limited dessert options – a large slice of Tiramisu or Italian ice (they had a few flavors including Pisacchio & Tuttie Fruitti). There are tons of photos & art pieces on the walls. Also, take a trip to the bathroom, the women’s is a large single stall, it was clean & well stocked. We were well cared for, and our glasses were constantly refilled with water. Thanks for a great evening.

Stopped here while visiting in New Orleans. Nice steak eatery. For the drink I had a Manhattan. For my main course I had a 18oz ribeye cooked medium and for the sides sautéed mushrooms, asparagus, and potatoes. Everything was really good. The wedge salad with house made blue cheese was great. The steak was cooked perfect and seasoned perfectly. The sautéed mushroom and onions was great, the asparagus was ok, but the potatoes was by far the best side dish. Christine was our server and she provided excellent customer service. Shout out to Christine!! Need to mention that they do not have menus. I would definitely say stop by this steak restaurant if you are ever in Nola

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I’d give this place 10 stars if I could. My wife and I made reservations here for 7:15 on a Tuesday evening. We waltzed right in 5 minutes before our reservation and we’re promptly seated. Our waitress was super nice and got our drink order right away. She gave us the verbal rundown of the “menu”.

A New Orleans institution, but if you aren’t from here just know that it’s a no-frills, steak-focused restaurant – but man do they cook a mean steak. Don’t pass on the shoestring onion rings – best I’ve ever had. Usually don’t need reservations, but can’t hurt during the weekend. Good for big parties as they have the ability to partition off the upstairs dining room.

Steaks were tough. I ate at good steakhouses, this by far is the worst… very bland and very tough cut of meat. I rather eat at texas roadhouse than at charlies. Atmospheres sucks and weight of the steaks they say they were were… alot smaller. Place is rip off… never eat their again.. service was good… food was nasty…

I really enjoyed this restaurant. The word unpretentious came to mind while eating here. It isn’t that the restaurant is not trying to impress, it is just that they do not feel the need to put on airs. My server Keith was very nice and attentive throughout the visit.

Small quaint place. Neighborhood vibes for sure. No menu… or at least we were not offered one. We’re told the menu but not the price.
