We got there just before the dinner rush on a Friday night, and were seated right away. Just a few minutes later there was a 25 minute wait for a table. The table side guacamole is worth the price. Absolutely fantastic. I could not decide which Tacos to try, and the waiter said that he could do one of each of 3 different types, except the walleye Tacos. I tried the chicken, the steak, and their special for the night, a pork and pineapple concoction. Spectacular. My companion had the chicken in a Chipotle cream sauce with mushrooms which was also divine. Service was also excellent even though our waiter was dealing with a difficult table near us. I would definitely recommend you go early. Food is worth a bit of a wait though!

I was offered guacamole dip from a cart a woman goes around making with different ingredients. When I saw the portion, I should’ve asked if it cost money. I’m a little angry that I wasn’t told. It cost $11.00, and before I found that out by seeing it on the bill, I already made the statement I didn’t like it. I was disappointed that my seat couldn’t see the TV, which I was very interested in watching. There was a beam blocking my view. The water had an odd taste so I didn’t finish it and otherwise it was OK. On the fence if the meat was cut too thin. Very friendly staff. Very clean place. When we’re in Grand Forks, our go-to mexican restaurant is Casa Mexico in East Grand Forks. Unfortunately it was closed, assuming it was a covid closure. Well we decided to try a new Mexican restaurant in Grand Forks(new to us, since we haven’t been to Grand Forks since 2019) We were not disapointed, what a fantastic restaurant! Food was amazing! As authentic as you will get for Mexican food in the Great white north. From the chips and salsa waiting at our table, to the fresh guacamole made at our table, to the meals we ordered….absolutely delicious! Had the Carne Asada myself and it was awesome. Shout out to Jose, our construction worker server from California. Service was great, as was the atmosphere. Will be back and would recommend to all to try this place out!

Awesome first IMPRESSION! As going in we were greeted and seated quickly. I have to mention being hispanic I felt the atmosphere very nicely decorated. Server was awesome since we got seated. She was on top of our drinks and requests! I will share that the pricing is average to the plate size. Foof was very good!!! Chips and salsa IS A MUST! SALSA WAS GREAT!!! Tasted AUTHENTIC! food was a 100/10. I got a quesadilla fajita plate w steak. Steak had a great flavor! We ordered guacamole and its made fresh by your table which was awesome something i had not seen in any other mex restaurant. We got churros also with ice cream on the side and OMG!!! AWESOME!!! This restaurant is a MUST GO TO if you want to taste AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD! I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IN ALL GRAND FORKS MEXICAN RESTAURANTS!!

Every so often that craving for Mexican food hits, and I tell you what, no other place hits the spot like Charras. The food is top quality, authentic, and service is phenomenal, if you get in early they have your food ready quicker than most fast food places. Now can it be a little pricey sometimes, yes, (those drinks add up), but il tell you what, it’s worth it every time. Especially for that handmade guacamole, so good, I love going with a friend, and eating while watching and guessing trivia that they have on on of the tvs. Would and will go again.

Amazing place, fresh guac made tableside, and delicious tortilla chips and salsa (could be a bit spicier) and cucumber ice water. Everyone’s entree was so delicious, we all cleaned our plate even though portions were generous! Cocktails looked amazing but we were there for lunch, so will have try some of those next time. Also yummy were the dessert churros with Mexican chocolate. Very quick service from the attentive and hard-working staff. Highly recommend over other Mexican restaurants in Grand Forks!

Great experience all around! We were a group of 6 and service was quick, didn’t wait long at all. Drinks were delicious and food was awesome! Also all of our food that we ordered came within 10 minutes from ordering! We have Never had food come that fast, cooked perfectly and tasty! Highly recommend this place and our waiter was awesome as well, very welcoming and kind (I think his name was Feye??) Something like that on his work shirt if that was his name, either way he was great!
