Growing up on the East Coast near Jersey, seafood was fresh and gritty. That’s how you know it’s real seafood, the fresh caught lobsters or crabs had a good sea/sand taste to them. The Lobstah Trap did not disappoint, it should be the number one seafood restaurant in Colorado Springs not Bonefish Grill who have no idea what seafood really is. Feelings aside, give it a try it’s amazing! The lobster Rolls and Mac n cheese are to good to pass up!

Must visit!!! Service is amazing! Staff was hopping when I got there at 4pm on a Saturday & they were very on top of everything! All food was fresh and perfectly prepared.. I ordered the whole lobster dinner w/Mac & onion rings, add on whole belly clams. Everything was perfectly crispy & steamed! Look up! There are Seagulls in the rafters (decoys, of course)! The have a separate bar area where you can sit, eat drink, and be merry. It’s a very personal atmosphere, clean & easy. Drinks are EXTREMELY affordable with free mixers to anything… I bought the full lobster dinner, but we’ll worth the price at roughly $50 for full steamed lobster and 2 sides. We’ll worth it!

Super cheap drinks during happy hour! Need I say more? Look, it’s the Springs so the prices will be a tad on the high side for the food items…. BUT .. the service is top notch! If you are looking for a chill place to have a cheap beer and some seafood at happy hour, there is literally nowhere else in the Springs that will offer both. If you happen to make it to the bar, ask for Helen. If you want your drink made perfectly, flawless service and a chill vibe; sit at the bar, ask for Helen and order whatever looks good to you on the menu. Trust me, you won’t regret it!

I grew up in New Bedford, MA, so it was really exciting to find a seafood restaurant in Colorado that is not only owned by someone from Mass but gets their seafood imported from New England. I haven’t been back home in almost 10 years, and this was the best seafood I’ve had since! It’s hard to find haddock (the best fish) in general, but all the seafood here tasted so fresh despite being nowhere near the ocean. All the meat had its own flavor that you just don’t get from local grocery store seafood, and the lobster roll was hefty on the meat and did not disappoint! It’s quite pricey compared to back home, but considering the food is imported, I think the prices were fair. It’s still cheaper than bland Red Lobster food

The food isn’t of good quality. The cole slaw tastes like they dumped pepper in it. The lobster Mac and cheese has breading which is wet not crispy so it turns goopy and gross when you’re eating it, the fries are crispy but half of them were hollowed out from being burnt. The clam chowder is good in flavor but once again lacks protein it’s a lot of potatoes and the bread bowl is so soaked in butter it tastes like wet cardboard. For the Connecticut roll it’s pretty much dried out claw meat inside of a hot dog bun. And the chips are extremely burnt and crispy-home made more like home burnt. The only thing worse than the food was getting in and out of the parking area. My family will not be returning.

I have seen this place a few times and finally decided to try it. Let me tell you, this place is AWESOME!! Homemade chips were a nice touch, the seafood tots were way better than I imagined and will be ordering them everytime now. I got the popular Connecticut lobster roll and was very impressed! It had amazing flavor but not so much as to over power the taste of the lobster at all! Seriously the best lobster roll I have ever had and super fresh! My friends got the other lobster roll that comes warm with butter (didn’t get a picture) but they loved it! Definitely going back and stopping everytime I see there food truck for a snack!! 10/10 must try!!!

I’ve been trying to get down to Chef Bob’s Lobstah Trap for the last year. I finally made it…. and it was un-freaking-believably AWESOME. I ordered ahead online so it was ready when I arrived. I got the Connecticut Lobster Roll (Gronk style, which is 25% more Lobster), with the Mac n Cheese and fries. It was AMAZING! The Lobster was so tender, absolutely perfectly cooked, and the staff was so very friendly it was an absolute treat to be there. The Lobstah Roll was SO STUFFED with it I couldn’t take a bite unless I took some out of it, so I added some of it to the Mac n Cheese, which didn’t need any help, but definitely added a big whollop of super-tastiness anyway! Having eaten Lobster from coast to coast, including whoIe Lobster straight from the Atlantic in Boston, I have honestly NEVER HAD BETTER! And the prices are great, especially considering the high quality, freshness, and excellent customer service. Can’t be beat anywhere in Southern Colorado, period!

Service is fabulous! We came at a busy time and it didn’t seem like the food took too long. I love the half lobster grilled cheese and cup of clam chowder combo! That cheese is ooey gooey super awesome! Hubby got fish and chips with fries… great flavor without being salty. I have enjoyed the lobster mac and cheese in the past, too. They kept the tables clean during quite a rush. Some excellent stuff!
