I live right around the corner from Chef Greg’s “Soul N The Wall”. I’ve been wanting to share a review for a while, and photos of my food. The problem is that his cooking is so damn good, I forget to take out my camera before I’ve eaten it all. Chef Greg is the truth, and the next time you have a taste for soul food, this is the one. He cooks stuff up by order though, so plan in 15-20 minutes for your order.

I was very disappointed with the food. I was in town for a Graduation ceremony, and we decided to try it out. Over priced buffet at $32 per person. The flat wear and utensils were plastic, and the music was to loud.

This is a takeaway hole in the wall that makes food that is truly carby home cooking at it’s best, fried pork chops, fries topped with beef/BBQ/cheese, catfish, okra. The breading is seasoned. A few of the fried items were not as good as the others but on the whole if you need a serious injection of soul food, Chef Greg’s is hard to beat.

Chef and his son were so sweet and helpful! Felt like I was at my auntie Deborah house. lol. This was my first time there, I got the 4 side platter (Mac n cheese, black eyed peas, cabbage, yams) and the veggie sub with greens!! Every single bite was sooo delicious! O M G ! Better than how mama make it! I WILL be coming back and buying PLATTERS for thanksgiving and every other gathering. 10/10!! Would recommend!!

This place has great food!! One of my older class mates in grad school told me about Chef Greg’s Soul in the Wall, said she used to come frequently about 20 years ago when she lived in the area. My wife and I gave it try and now I can honestly say this place is a diamond in the rough. They have great fish, cornbread and AMAZING cabbage!!! On my last visit I finally tried the Boogoolo fires… they SLAPPED!!! I ordered them with ground beef for my wife, and chicken for myself. My pops said he used to order these fries back in the day while at Mumford High School & they even slapped then!!. We’ll definitely be back.
