Wow! I was beyond impressed with the quality and taste of the food from here! The Basil Chicken was absolutely delicious. Everything was exceptionally fresh and I will absolutely go back. The staff was exceptionally kind and professional – I was immediately greeted by one of the managers who had an infectious smile. Loved this place and will absolutely go back soon!

Definitely the most authentic Chinese food in the area. Got s2 fish fillet, bl7 lamb hot pot, n hd6 soup dumplings. All were good but we were most blown away by the fish. Silky soft n almost melt in your mouth. The lady host was very nice and sweet. Food came very quick.

Freakin love this place – could not recommend enough! Hands down the most legit, high quality, best Chinese restaurant in Hampton Roads! Always consistently good, service is incredible, and it’s actually not possible to come here and have complaints! Crazy right?? I have come many times and the owner is very loving, giving my friends and I free drinks or food because our meal is taking a while to get out, and it is always a joy to see her. The sweet and sour fish is just insanely good – and who’s ever heard of sweet and sour FISH?? I mean, pardon my horrible ignorance if that’s a pretty common dish in China, but I have never seen it in my somewhat extensive Chinese restaurant (in America) experience. And it’s so so so good. Everything is cooked perfectly and everything is amazing. I could go on and on. The only sad thing about Chef Lu’s is that they are not open 24/7, and close at 8, but hey, they’re exclusive! And who would hate such a fantastic place for closing a bit earlier than is desirable by food-seeking-people with high standards in the evening? For me, I say all is well. Sometimes I ponder my relationship with Chef Lu’s and realize my stupidity in not supporting such a marvelous local business more. I’m really not sure what’s wrong with me. But I know there’s nothin wrong with Chef Lu’s!! Come check out the best Chinese food on the peninsula!

This place was amazing. From the pork dumpling appetizer, the crispy spring rolls, vegetable lo mein with garlic brown sauce and chicken hot pot! My husband and I totally enjoyed the freshness and flavor of everything. The sweet lady server was on point. She was helpful and kind. We will definitely go back again.

This Chinese restaurant is my all time favorite. Not only is their food very authentic and delicious but also the service is top notch! The owner of the restaurant is always friendly and welcoming and greets us personally whenever we visit. When you are home away from home and you are craving for some good authentic Chinese/Taiwanese food, this place makes you feel at home.

Had the sauteed Garlic Bok Choy. The flavor was good but every time I chew I was grinding sand or dirt in the vegetable between teeth. Obviously the chef Lu did not prep the vegetable well. Poor food prep means the chef is not well skilled and does not give good attention to his cooking.
