I’ve been here twice now and both times were great. I got the orange chicken and steamed vegetables once and the general tso chicken and steamed vegetables the other time. Great flavor of sauces. The chicken actually has chicken in it, unlike a lot of other Chinese places that are mainly breading. Fair prices and fast service.

This is exactly what i needed on a fridgid as f*ck Sunday morning. Left America’s best after an overnight during my drive down to Boise from seattle to spokane to trincities and now La Grande. across the street and an unassuming restaurant. Closest chinese place to me and i was craving chinese.

This is one of my favorite restaurants to stop when I am driving across Oregon. It’s a middle of the road place as far as food and appointments. But as I have stopped there often over the last 10 years (at least 2 or 3 times a year) and I have always gotten good plentiful Chinese food. The lady who runs the place is always present, welcoming, and quickly brings my food. It is a good honest meal at a fair price.

The owner is very friendly and works hard to make sure the food comes out just right and is perfectly willing to customize an order. Garlic a problem for you? They’ll leave it out of your dish. Just ask! Occasionally, customers will come in expecting this restaurant to still be a buffet and be rather rude. However, this is the same ownership as when it was a buffet. It’s just service in a different format. NOTE: Portions tend to be large, especially the dinner menu.

Take it from me, a legit food reviewer lol. Delicious. I got full fast but at the same time I wish I had more to take home because of how amazing everything was, and I don’t just mean thr food. It was clean, comfortable, affordable, and the service was excellent. I will definitely return and I recommend Chen’s to who ever this may apply.
