Chester’s is delicious. We always get the chili with big chunks of meat in in, and of course a side of cornbread. The chili threw me at first because it is a little sweet, sort of like baked beans with bacon are. But soon I embraced the sweet and learned to love it!

Hits the spot every time. We got the sampler. Everything is good but some of my favorites are the apples, pulled pork, ribs, coleslaw, and their corn bread. (And the sauce) I used to be a regular at the Clinton location and haven’t gotten to scratch the itch in a while. 100% satisfied customer.

I love the food!!! So darn good!!! Service is fine at the counter. After that, expect to be mostly left alone. (a gentleman did ask us, “how is it?” and was already walking away when we started to praise the food. The benches are hard and just comfortable enough to ignore when the food comes out. I’ll keep getting takeaway. They have the best ribs and brisket and burnt ends and cornbread and baked beans and sweet potatoes and the sweet tea will remind you of a warm day in Goose Creek, South Carolina. Avoid the borrring coleslaw and mac n’ cheese, though: the collard greens are a much better choice, I promise.

1 Meat BBQ Dinner was missing the cornbread. Mac and cheese was very bland and sweet potatoes were actually bad. Brisket was phenomenal. Overall a bad experience and will not be back unfortunately. Head to Oz n’ Bones if you want incredible BBQ in SE CT.

Got a whole chicken this time, and was not disappointed! Also, I tried my buddy’s burnt ends, it had perfect bark and melted in my mouth. I have been all over the country and lived in Kansas for a while. I love bbq. I was pleasantly surprised.

Hands down the best bbq place in the north east. I was in Austin Tx. Earlier this year I went to a famous bbq restaurant and did not taste better than Chester’s bbq. I believe I spoke to the owner there and he was telling how some people travel from Jersey, Boston, PA, on a weekly or monthly bases just to get this bbq. And I don’t blame them because I will be one of them as well lol. The meats are very tender and so tasty. The place smells so good cuz the smoker is inside and when you come out you will also smell like bbq.

The food was good. I got the brisket and dark chicken. I also got the mac and cheese and potato salad. The portions were ok for the price, I’ve paid more for smaller portions at other BBQ places. The brisket was tender and wasn’t dry. The chicken was also juicy but could use a little more flavor. The mac and cheese was good. The potato salad was some of the best I’ve tried in a long time, tasted closer to homemade stuff than other places. Cornbread was really good, it was moist and crumbly just how I like it. I will be back again.
