Chiang Mai Menu – Webster Groves, MO

Type : Restaurant

Location : Webster Groves, MO

Chef Su Hill grew up in Chiang Mai, a small town in northern Thailand. It was there where she first learned about creating simple, yet sophisticated tastes from her mother, who cooked for the family each day using ingredients from their family garden.

Now, Chef Su brings that authentic northern Thai cuisine to Webster Groves, sharing the Chiang Mai mealtimes of her childhood with the St. Louis community. Like its art, language and cultural heritage, Chiang Mai food is distinct from southern and eastern Thai food. Formally Tei Too, the restaurant is located at the corner of Lockwood and Big Bend, adjacent to Webster University.

Based on 167 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.4 stars. Price $$

Absolutely delicious Thai food and lovely service and decor. The green curry with chicken was one of the best Thai curry dishes since we left Kansas City. Best Thai have had in St. Louis by a mile. Prices are reasonable for the quality. Was not crowded at lunch–deserves way more customers and patronage because food is first-rate.

Very very good food. Everything we had was delicious. We got a couple of appetizers, then shared pork curry, spicy basil chicken and green chicken curry. All the dishes were very flavorful. Also the meat was nice meat, and tender. There’s nothing I hate more than a curry full of tough, brown meat chicken. The service was great, the people are nice and the atmosphere is very casual and relaxed. There are a couple of outside tables but it’s mostly inside. They don’t have a full bar but they sell wine, beer and saki. Definitely somewhere I will visit again when I’m in St. Louis.

The service is quick and food was ok. The papaya salad was really good though. The food portions are big, so it’s enough for one hungry person. You can choose the spicier level, I order spice level 3 and it wasn’t as spicy as other places.

Food was amazing. Good portions, lots of flavor. Absolutely delicious. Service good and very friendly. Very reasonable prices. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that you can’t get a glass of water (I asked). You have to buy a water bottle. Not only environmentally egregious but out of character for a sit-down restaurant that serves food on nice dishes and provides a chic metal ice bucket for your wine bottle.

So happy to have found a yummy Thai place in the area! The green curry here is amazing. Super flavorful. The Thai iced tea is delicious as well. It’s a great causal spot to grab dinner. Wonderful service as well.

My search for the best Thai in STL is finally over. This restaurant has made my husband a converted curry lover.

Avoid this place and their cultists. The eggplant tofu was average. The little fried rolls were pretty good. The ribs tasted bad. The drum stick was dry and poorly seasoned. The tofu pad Thai was forgettable. The entire presentation was bad as one dish could be in 3 different unlabeled containers, and I ordered a bunch of dishes. They failed to make my order on time, I was told a couple of minutes, after 5 minutes I was told a couple more minutes. I got shorted a main dish. It was well over $20/person and no one was happy and the vegan was simply “not disappointed.” – owner responded quickly and respectfully, so I’m changing to 5star until I come again to give a second chance.

Could be 4 star but they charge 3 percent for credit card and charge .75 cents per water bottle. I read in another review that they said their water supply is tainted, but I don’t believe this since they still serve you ice. I think they are trying to milk the customer as much as possible even though the menu is already relatively expensive. I am not sure if this restaurant is a fast casual restaurant or a formal sit down restaurant. They make you come up to the counter to pay for your food. Asking for a recommended minimum 18 percent tip is outrageous.

Lovely place for dinner. Great service and tasty food. The quiet environment is much appreciated after sticking our head in a pub at the end of the block!
