This was our second time at Chianti. The food was excellent and our server was friendly and attentive. This is a mostly positive review with two negative points that we feel need mentioning. We ordered the grilled octopus as an appetizer. On our previous visit, this was a highlight and we shared it with a few bites each. This time, the leg was maybe 8″ long and possibly 2 ounces. $27. That crosses the line from pricey to rip off. I know it’s Saratoga but that was ridiculous. Second, we understand having tables close to each other but when guests and servers have to squeeze through sideways and still brush against the seated diner, they’re too close. Will we return? Probably but we may need to request specific seating and be a little more mindful of our menu selections (the octopus was from the specials and we didn’t pick up on the price if it was mentioned).

We were in town for my nephew’s wedding and had been to an hors d’oeuvres reception earlier in the evening. I had fallen in love with Chianti’s menu (so many carpaccios and risottos!) so we ate lightly at the buffet to leave room for dinner. We were seated as requested in the small outside patio. Everyone who came to our table was friendly, knowlegble, and helpful. All questions were thoughtfully and personally answered.

I have been here now for a fifth time, and believe it will be the last as the place has consistently gone downhill over the years. Got a decent table, but did not luck out with the server who had little interest in making us feel welcomed. My friend had a Caesar salad which literally was a romaine wedge cut in half with a drizzle of dressing and minuscule amount of cheese on top. My friend said he could have had a better salad from a vending machine. My wife had the scallop special which she said was excellent. The carpaccio has changed over the years. The slices get even thinner and the extras that make the dish special (like the drizzled oil and the cheese) are also rationed. More profitable I am sure for the restaurant, but not pleasant for the customer. My orechiette main was decent, but very really high on the salt.

I really wanted to love this place. It’s cute but we were stuck in this weird inner room when the front room was empty. The service though definitely top notch! But the food itself was just not amazing Italian. I would say it was so so. My husband got the special and it was swordfish. Ok but bland and boring. My daughter got a pasta that was oily and blah. I also got a pasta that was only okay. Just really not inspired. So it was perfectly fine, we just expected it to be really good and left disappointed.

Crowded, the manager showed little/no concern over my allergic reaction, which occurred at the table. Food was not bad. Pretty heartless and a bit snobbish representation by restaurant staff/management.

Our party of 4 had a wonderful experience for dinner. Entrees were excellent. Great callimari as well. But nothing tops our service with Alecia, outstanding.

We were a group of six coming from Saratoga races with no reservations. Despite this, accommodations were made for us. Although crowded, the service and food was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Would highly recommend stopping in and trying it out. Prices are very fair and the food quality is as high as iv’e seen.

My meal was very good, however my wife had a fish special that was tiny and dry. The Maitre’d generously omitted the charge from my bill. The service was excellent and the calamari was excellent as well.
