Just drove 30 minutes to get a taste of home. Walked in at 8:25 and they said we already cleaned the grill so we can’t sell you that. They said we can only do fried food. It doesn’t take long to clean a grill worked in the kitchen for a long time. Lazy and poor service!

We have eaten here for years now, but I won’t go back after my recent experience. First, I called for the specials. I was told what they were and two of us wanted that. I called back to order after looking at the menu online. When I ordered the special, she informed me that I must have called the wrong location to ask for those…why don’t they have the same specials? I asked what their specials were and she told me they were dine-in only. I hung up to get a new order together. Called back and Like other reviews have mentioned, she was not happy to be talking to me and seemed like I was a bother. When I ordered a gyro plate which the menu states comes with 2 sides, I was told it only comes with 1. She didn’t tell me a total or anything, just what my order number was. I got there to pick up the food and it was insanely expensive for lunch. If I wanted to spend $50+ on lunch, we would’ve gone somewhere nicer. When I got home, there was no sauce for the gyro…just meat, tomatoes, and onions. The person doesn’t like tomatoes or onions so they literally ate pita with the meat. Frustrating experience from start to finish.

I am originally from Chicago so I know what Chicago food taste like. I was disappointed but I knew what to expect. It was close but not close enough. Service was fast and atmosphere was great as well. If you from Chicago you know what is going on. I tried it not my cup of tea, but if you want to try Chicago food give it a try.

I used to appreciate their customer service, but today I had to hang up the phone on a employee due to the fact she act like I was bothering her when I was trying to place my order over the phone . First time I called someone picked up but did not say anything after I kept saying Hello. Second time I called when the lady employee answered she said Hello as if she was answering her personal phone call. I had to confirm I was calling the actually restaurant. So then I tell her I would like to place an order, the lady employee paused for 20 seconds and says um yeah okay? So then I asked her are you closer or something, she goes um no go ahead with your order..

Ridiculously disappointed as I love Chicago food. I called at 1:46 pm to order an Italian beef and pizza puff. Told me it would take 45 mins to an hour, called at 2:33 to ask if it was ready, said it wasn’t. Gave them some more time and got to the restaurant at 3:15 only to be told that they never even started making it. The restaurant was empty except for one guy that was dining in. Disappointing because I was looking forward to it, and waited out for them to support their business. Hopefully they get their act together because at this rate, they’ll lose customers fast.

Not sure if there’s new owners or management. I have eaten here numerous times from the opening of this location. Today I ordered an Italian beef sandwich; my usual; cost approximately $10, sandwich only! There literally was 3 slices of meat and a mountain of peppers. Whereas, I do love lots of peppers on my sandwiches but there was 1 long slice and 2 small pieces of meat. When I asked for extra meat the cashier looked at me crazy. I don’t return food to be “ fixed” so I requested a refund. She rolled her eyes and went to the back; eventually without saying a word processed my refund. No offer to fix it; no apologies anything. I’m a Chicago native; this was more of a gravy bread were you get that small piece of meat as an added bonus from the bread dip. Maybe there’s some thinly sliced beef shortage. Very unsatisfying experience. See photo on their site (LESS than 1/3 of the meat pictured was on my sandwich today)

The food definitely doesn’t represent Chicago. The chili cheese dog was comparable to the pump chili & cheese at a gas station. The meat on the patty melt was a single, super thin and no flavor. Fried mushrooms were burnt & cooked in old grease. Greek salad was $9 with 2 cucumbers, 1 tomato slice, & 1 slice of green pepper. Expensive for the quality!

Food was ok. Lived and ate in Chicago for 40 yrs. Chicago style is only in the name. Cost more to eat here than it does in Chicago for comparable food. Don’t get fooled by the name.

We’ve lived in Murfreesboro for 3.5 years and we were born in raised in Chicago. So. We have very high expectations when it comes to “claiming” Chicago style food. After passing this place many times we decided to try it. I have to say it is as close to Chicago food that we have had down here thus far!! We were impressed. My husband had an Italian beef with sausage (called a Combo in the Chi), I had an Italian beef, we both added sweet peppers. Normally we add giardiniera but we wanted to taste the beef without heat. We tried the French fries but they aren’t hand cut, frozen crinkle cut so they were okay. They did have however, ILTaco Pizza Puffs which are from Chicago and they were so, so good. Haven’t had one in like 5 years. Anyways, they have a good selection and we will definitely go back, 4 stars is because it is a bit pricey. 5.99 for a pizza puff is a little crazy even in these times. And the beef sandwiches were 9 and 10 dollars without sides so… if you like Chicago style food and are willing to pay for it, definitely worth it!!
