This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in this area, Everything was great. I had he the tacos and my wife had enchiladas. Both orders came with rice and refried beans (I loved the beans). Portions were large and delicious. We had a mix (1 steak, 1 chicken, 1 pork). Salsa was excellent and chips were free. They gave us a bag of chips to take home. We also ordered guacamole. Also excellent. Fried ice cream for desert. Service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Prices were very reasonable. There is no liquor license so bring your own.

Nice downtown ambience serving authentic Mexican favorites. It’s a BYOB. We had enchiladas combo with refried beans and rice and served extra (spicy) hot upon request, a taco salad, and tortilla soup.

Excellent Mexican food using fresh ingredients and serving large portions. Go straight for the Corn Esquites as an appetizer. Enough for 2 people to share – the corn was so perfectly cooked and juicy it literally pops sweet and spicy flavor with every bite. The steak burrito was also excellent. A great addition to Somerville!

We really enjoyed the food! It was very fresh and tasted great. Service was awesome. Every table gets salsa and chips which we loved. I had a vegetarian quesadilla and he has chicken flutas. We had a good time!

This is our new favorite Mexican restaurant. It’s authentic and everything was excellent. We ordered the fresh guacamole and beef nachos for apps and an array of burritos, tacos, enchiladas and seafood diablo for dinner. Nothing disappointed and everyone remarked how much they love their meals. Somerville really needed an authentic Mexican restaurant and Chicali is it. We’ll be back for sure.

Friendly service, decent prices, and fresh ingredients. They also have vegetarian options and offer to make a dish vegetarian/vegan upon request, where they can accommodate. Give the esquites a try as an app – delicious. 🙂

Our team all agreed that our lunch selections were all excellent. I ordered a guacamole as my lunch dish didn’t include any. It was a huge portion, enough for the six of us to share. Everything was excellent. One minor comment: I ordered my dish to be hot, and it wasn’t hot at all. I even asked for additional hot sauce. Their hot sauce simply wasn’t that hot, but it did have a nice taste though. Maybe it was a fresh batch and the hotness from the peppers wasn’t developed by lunchtime?

the service was good. the food was so/so. their starter salsa was amazing. for an entree I had chicken taco’s and they looked great, but were definitely bland and over priced. The food wasn’t terrible and i wouldn’t say “do not eat here” but the other Mexican place in town is 10x better. more flavorful and 1/2 the price. I don’t see them staying in business unless they make some changes.

The salsa and chips were so good I ordered a large container to go. Comfortable restaurant with good service. They take their time, no rush. Everything is homemade. Trio fajitas ( shrimp ,pork, steak) were great as well as the tortilla soup. I will go back and try some other stuff.
