Okay, so first of all I’d really like to say that the tacos were really good.. moving on. I ordered the 3 pack tacos(delish), “loaded nachos” with chips and guac, and fingers and fries. So idk what happened, are these the “loaded nachos”????? I got 2 sauces with no lid wrapped in aluminum foil. Hella mess when I opened my bags. And yes the guac was served on the side of the chips like that.

This place was amazing. They don’t give you skimpy 5 year old little precious princess tea time meals, they fed me like the king that I am. I feasted on a delicious chicken fingers “snack” wrap. The thing was more than a snack, it was a whole meal. If you haven’t eaten here yet, it’s time. Go! Get to the Chick-Mex! Do it NOWWW!

Best WHITE GARLIC SAUCE shawarma, AND also, the best jerk chicken in Buffalo area… My wife and I are from outside of Toronto/Mississauga area, where you can arguably find some of the best shawarma. Have now tried about 6 or 7 places in the Buffalo area, and this is the best location of all so far. Gotta love that classic, creamy, irresistible white garlic sauce and the hot sauce is superb as well.

This branch of Chick Mex is located inside my college SUNY University at Buffalo’s campus, in the UB Commons area alongside other good restaurants, clothing, accessories shops etc. Went here for the first time to get some dinner last weekend one night, two staff serving in the shop during that time were very polite, attentive, welcoming, and very friendly. Got a ‘halal chicken over rice, which I would recommend with either any other protein as I would chicken. The staff did not mind adding more than one sauce on it when I asked them to. Also got a monster burrito, and both of them tasted so good and fresh. There were tables and chairs when I got to the shop several minutes before 9pm, so no customers were there, but I can guarantee the service and atmosphere in general would be very friendly, welcoming, comforting and relaxingly.

My review is for the cashier at the restaurant, the food itself was great. I was told by the server to wait for 5 minutes for the tomato and onion salsa to get prepared and I was waiting as he told me to. Then the cashier just came to the cash register and told me to pay for the food. I said I was still waiting for the salsa. She started going off on a completely different tangent and saying something about something costs extra. She clearly did not even try to listen to what I was saying. Then the server who had told me to wait told her that I was actually waiting for the salsa. Then she made up a story that they are out of it. And then she had the gall to tell me that I was new here so I misunderstood. No, it was you who misunderstood and who had no patience to listen to a customer who was waiting on your server’s instructions. You should have apologized and told me you were out of the salsa, no problem! You don’t have to try and blame and get away, please don’t behave like this.

Honestly went into this one quite optimistic, but was later brought to reality. After walking in staff was friendly and pictures on the menu screens had me beyond excited to try the food. After receiving my food and taking my first bite however, my 3 tacos 2 beef 1 steak was hard as a rock and i question if this was at all ment to be edible. I even gave a tip and now looking on google to find another place to order food from at 10:18p.

This place used to be good but now they have fallen off a cliff. Their signature chicken over rice doesn’t taste good anymore. They have also reduced their portions while retaining the same price. For that price, you can get a far superior chicken over rice at other halal places.
