Update 2/18/23 thought I’d try again since it’s been a long while that I’ve eaten here. No, no change to the gizzards. SO MUCH batter, gizzards are puny, fish is over fried but the fried corn is good and rolls are still good. Was it worth the $53? Thats a big NO! posted some pics

The food was quite good, but the service was not. The cashier was very sweet but the manager seemed stuck up when my card declined ( it was due to it being a prepaid card.) And when we found out they don’t accept prepaid cards, the manager continued to be snotty about it when explaining why.

This place is horrible the chicken tenders tasted horrible with no flavor the chicken tender were black the boneless chicken bites were burnt and you can smell the burning the manager nerve of her to have an attitude with me because I’m returning how food that I paid $25 they refuse to give me my money back they don’t give out refunds buyer beware buy at your own risk I left the food there with them I show you you can keep the food then how rude the manager tells another employee why I’m talking to her and she says to and employee I’m going to meet you in my office no sis you can’t tell someone you going to meet him in your office while you indulging with me about my order you have a very bad attitude but guess what I’m reclaiming my time. I picked up chicken from this location on my way home after work. And went inside to place my order and spent $60.61. When I got home, wife checked the bag and told me about missing roll and being overcharged was overcharged for fries. We had company over for dinner and one of our guests found hair in the batter. So that was a turn off for everyone. Put all chicken back in box and my wife when over to Popeyes and picked up chicken. While on her way she had called Chicken Express and asked for Manager and a young girl answered and all she was sorry and didn’t offer anything. So next day she called and spoke to general manager and he told her to call the number at the bottom of receipt. Owner answered and he said he would only give $25 dollar credit. She proceeded to explain having spent more money to get chicken elsewhere then he stated he would do full refund. He told he usually doesn’t do but under the circumstances he would just to take a picture of receipt and send it to him. Which I heard him say because she had him on speaker. So All weekend she checked for refund. Nothing.. so she call the owner again on Monday morning. But when he answers, he had asked her to remind him again about the situation, because he gets so many calls about people complaining (which sent a red flag in her mind set). After speaking to him he denied saying he would do a full refund. But would only do a $25 dollar store credit. Wife said he wasn’t a nice person today and very uncooperative.

Im a creature of habit when ordering so I haven’t tried many items on the menu, but the repeat items I have ordered have always been delicious. I was shorted a few chicken tenders on my recent order so I kindly called asking to come back and get the remaining tenders. The staff in League City far exceeded my expectations after arrival. Kinder gestures were reciprocated on my behalf for the inconvenience of having to drive back to the establishment, by giving me a “refund” on my order and replacing everything. I was amazed upon returning home and had no idea they would over compensate for a minor human error. Thank you to the hard working staff.

Drive through girl was very rude when I told her I wanted half tea half water, guy at window is decent but not so professional. Food was overcooked and the price is expensive for such tiny overcooked pieces of chicken. Ask for a biscuit each time I go there and never get one but get a roll. Mac and cheese is horrible. Tea is amazing when half and half so it’s not so sweet.

This chicken place appears pretty basic. So glad I read the reviews and decided to stop in. Their mashed potatoes are tasty. They use a lot of black pepper which really adds flavor to their potatoes and gravy. These mashed potatoes will bring you back to the school cafeteria. I normally don’t ever eat the rolls at other. Chicken places…these were fresh and tasty! I ordered a chicken thigh which had a delicious coating to my surprise. The spicy tenders were very good. Tea is fresh and good. I only have one complaint: it is cold so I wanted to eat in my car and they failed to give me silverware. Other than that, I am impressed. Some of the other chicken chains have turned into more of a hassle as others have mentioned. Poor management, skimpy and wrong orders are the rule rather than the exception. Welcome to the neighborhood, Chicken Express! We are glad you are here!
