I came in during lunch hour on Friday and it was quite busy. I was greeted by this young gentlemen at the front of the cashier and he guided me to the menu. I was quite confuse about the menu and he was very kind enough to guide me through every single bowl on the menu. What I was interested the most was the special (Kaisen Chirashi) that they had only for the spring/summer season. The cashier was very patient with me and explained what was in the special bowl which contains Lean tuna, toro tuna, hamachi, ikura, and my favorite Uni. I gave this bowl a try and surprisingly it was very fresh and delicious. The presentation is definitely Instagram worthy. Overall experience, i am very satisfied and will definitely come back.

I ordered the Roasted Black Cod. The fish was fresh tasting, had a slight caramelized char on top from roasting, was perfectly cooked and fell apart as I dug in. The cod had a slight sweet taste and balance of savory flavor which was enjoyable. The dish was well presented and they played jazz on the space. Overall it was a great experience

If you ever want a gourmet poke bowl experience, here is the place to get it! This stuff here is seriously good and seriously high quality. You pay a premium over a typical poke bowl place but I think it’s worth every penny if you decide you want to splurge a little!

finally made it to Chikarashi…for the Dole Whip! located inconspicuously on Canal Street. its interior is very clean and nicely lit. there’s seating along the sides of Chikarashi. primarily, known for its Hawaiian poké bowls…also is the closest place to me serving Dole Whip which is a Godsend during the warmer sweatier months of NYC.

Was anticipating to try this place and it didn’t live up to my expectation and the reviews given. I got the toro tuna (extra) bowl, salmon+ikura bowl and yellow tail bowl. The fishes and mixtures are delicious and flavorful. Can’t say about the rice which is too sticky and mushy. I have to pry it out from the side. There are too much rice as well with a small portion of the fishes. Would love to give it a try if they improve the rice.

Love love love this place! Came here looking for the best poke in NYC and was not disappointed. Fish is incredibly high quality and at the price point, great value. I ordered the flight so I could try out a couple different flavor profiles and definitely look forward to trying more of their menu. Service was fast and the seating was clean and plesant.

The food is fresh and large portions. What blows my mind about this place is the fact that they leave the bones in the fish. A – very dangerous to eat. B – this is a fast casual place and if you have to pick out bones and make a mess to eat, this is no longer casual or fast. Don’t order anything with bones as it will ruin your experience and is a complete turnoff from coming back here. Also, they don’t serve tap water for customers. You have to buy their overpriced water that comes in glass bottles or be thirsty while you dine in.

Poke is one of those things that have been getting popular in the city, within good reason. Some great places have opened up and Chikarashi is one of them!
