Nice new Mexican restaurant that opened in beacon Street. We tried the food right away, got the enchiladas, quesadillas, flan and tres leches. Food was amazing and tasted delicious. The price was affordable and the food quality was good with fresh meat and sides. The portions was small for that price. Loved the artistic style, great paintings and nice place to have a dine in. Customer service was amazing and the service was fast. The menu board was small and hard to read with so much lighting but the menu options are great. Desserts were good too but still very small size for that price. Definitely a great place to try. Will definitely visit again.

Solid Mexican inspired food. Tacos were excellent (the portion is small, you might want to get two orders). The taco salad is very satisfying and is a full meal. Burritos were good, you might want to add something that boosts acidity. The soft drink offering is limited to somewhat very sugary options. Fork and knives are plastic which makes the salad less enjoyable. Wood might be a better option. They have 7 tables. 3 tables are larger allowing for a larger party, maybe 8, to sit at one table. A kids birthday party in the clay room next door followed by having food here might be a thing. Parking is best going eastbound on Beacon street, limited street parking on the side of the restaurant on Beacon or around the corner on Summit Ave.

The lengua (beef tongue) torta was AMAZING. Sooo much flavor and so much meat in the sandwich. Great portion size for the price. I also love their green salsa!

Great food but I got some person who didn’t know how to make a burrito to save his life. I’m Mexican and don’t know a Mexican soul who didn’t know how to make a burrito by the time they were at most ten. After a really long wait, this poor soul at first tried to make me something that would’ve almost entirely have been rice. When he finished, he missed an ingredient so did it over. The doña standing next to me starts commenting to me how terrible the service is and how it was better in the past. Eventually the employee gets all the ingredients right but very poorly rolled the burrito. The manager said he’d refund me, which was kind. I hope next time I’m passing by for a quick burrito, it’s quick and done correctly.

It’s gorgeous inside but eerie quiet with no music or people. The burrito/bowl lacks the variety of options you would come to expect. The food is objectively good but it doesn’t have the authentic heart and depth of flavor like the variety of local competitors. The price is similar to others, but it’s half the portion of food.

The food and service here is incredible! As good as the Mexican food I grew up eating in San Diego. I’ve been searching for something this good since moving to the east coast over a decade ago. From the Elote to the flan, this place was official. If you like Mexican food, Chilacates will make you LOVE Mexican food.

Tried this restaurant earlier this week and wasn’t disappointed. The atmosphere is pretty laid back and relaxed. The Birria Tacos were amazing! The chips and salsa were good, got to try the chips and guac next time. Heading over there as we speak XD

Wow! Love this place. I’ve been 3 times in the last week :). Nearby, there are a few other takeout restaurants with similar items on the menu. By far the food is the best here. I’ve had burritos as well as beans and rice as a side. Delicious, and I can’t wait to try more menu items.
