Nice little spot. Very popular amongst locals. Always busy, suggest calling ahead or there may be a wait for your order. May have to call more than once, as I said they stay busy. Closed on Mondays. Food is pretty good for a takeout place.

This past Monday, I had a craving for Chinese food. Normally, I go to my favorite Chinese carry out restaurant – Hunan Garden. But, sadly they are closed on Mondays. So onto somewhere else. China Dragon got the 2nd highest reviews in Eldersburg, so figured, why not? I got carry out – spring rolls, chicken with cashews and steamed dumplings. Several reviews rated their steamed dumplings as the best. What a disappointment! When I got home, upon opening the chicken with cashews, I got a wave of burnt aroma. Indeed, the cashews were nearly black; burnt flavor permeated the entire dish. The steamed dumplings were bland and one – dimensional. Duck sauce did little to improve them. My mom had the spring rolls and stated that they didn’t have much flavor and they were dry. She showed me the inside of the dumpling; it looked like nothing but cabbage without any other veggies. I had leftovers, but tossed them all into the garbage can. No thank you and never again. Oh, BTW, it is telling when you go to a restaurant to pick up your food and the place is completely empty.

We’ve been going here for a while. They’re steamed dumplings are by far my favorite thing in the menu, but everything we get is typically very good. We have had some mistakes made with our to-go orders before, but the staff usually seems very friendly. My only complaint is the consistency with the chicken we get. Sometimes the sesame chicken will made differently than the last time we ordered it. Overall very good though.

After the change in ownership a couple years ago, it just hasn’t been the same. This was once our absolute favorite, but although they kept the same menu, the recipes just weren’t the same. I used to LOVE the hot and sour soup, but now its just so-so at best.
