I haven’t been to China Express in more than 20 years. In the late 70’s and 80’s I used to go here all the time and it was great! Unfortunately, I can not say the same in 2023. The food is over priced and of such poor quality. The chicken chow mien was 90%+ noodles with not much of anything else! The Asian chicken salad I remembered was a shadow of its former self! I threw the chicken salad in the trash after one bite. No utensils, napkins, sauce in the bag!

Came with the whole family, we are a party of 8 including kids. The customer service was very courteous and professional. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. We definitely plan to come back. Loved their Sweet and Sour best I’ve ever had.

Amazing food and I’m from Los Angeles. I got shrimp fried rice which did not disappoint and veggie chow mein. So far, best Chinese food in Modesto. I will be definitely coming back to try their other dishes. Thank you. The boxes were heavy too.

Stopped for lunch and asked about the lunch specials that they have in a 5’×5′ sign on the window, lady didn’t care and handed me a menu. Ordered the Kung pao chicken with steamed rice and chow mein. She asked if it was okay if it was spicy, but she must have asked if I wanted flavor. Hardly any chicken IN the chicken Kung pao, a Campbell’s chicken soup can yielded more. Chow main was also garbage. Two stars because service was at least prompt but please don’t go there.

I have been going to this establishment for about 35 years! I usually order the same thing fried rice potstickers and pork chow mein.The potstickers are large with generous stuffing, the pork chow mein is always fresh and cooked to order. Kung pao chicken is another favorite. I am able to order kung pao chicken on the mild side. I recently ordered pork chow mein and potstickers (comes w/6) to go the total was $22 had enough for two meals…

Ordered lunch to go, probably the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. Broccoli Beef contained no broccoli, beef didn’t taste too bad but the sauce contained some noodles & some vegetables that you couldn’t tell what they were. Also very spicy. The orange chicken was not good either. The chicken tasted off, like it was going bad. Will never go back.

To say this was disappointing, is a huge understatement, the worst food I’ve had in a long time. I was looking for something new and this was definitely different. I stopped on the 2nd dish, an filled up on fresh watermelon and water. Save your $100 dollars for your gas tank ,go anywhere else. Even my dogs won’t eat it. SO so bad.
