I think you need to know what to order here, we try things and next time we order what we liked. Notes so far, from multiple orders: Love the boneless spareribs, scallion pancakes, and orange chicken. Very good classic egg rolls. Hot and sour soup has a great flavor but tends to be thick, next time we will bring home and dilute with broth. We liked the Chinese mixed veggies and chicken chow mein. Chicken wings are very good, have a thick crust like General Gau’s. Make sure they included sauces and mustard if you want those. Usually the house special soup and the wonton soups are very good.

Me and my friend ordered yesterday December 29th 2022. We got crab rangoons as well as a couple other things. The crab rangoons tasted like they had sat out all day and been recooked. The chicken fingers we orders tasted and looked the same. The crab rangoons had a strange taste to them, but having eaten here numerous time I thought nothing of it. Until I woke up at 2am vomiting. My friend also did not feel good and we discussed what we ate. Came to the conclusion the crab rangoons most likely gave us mild food poisoning. If you order the crab rangoons make sure you inspect them!

Coming from Boston and a frequent eater of these Chinese restaurants, the China House was “average” at best and overpriced. Quality of the food tasted a bit old, quite common being on an island and most of the products didn’t taste fresh. Yet, the end bill came out close to the same as a high quality restaurant. I would put this on an emergency list if you really want Chinese food. But, overall, overpriced with poor quality food. The clerk in the front was fast and friendly. Takeout only.

The restaurant is ripping people off ! 6 wings for thirteens dollars is INSANE!! I will NEVER order from them again, OR even use the delivery platform. They need to get these restaurants about what items come with what like DOORDASH, so I can offend these mistakes again. How can these people get away with such insanity is beyond me. No food for what you pay.

My family has been coming to this restaurant for take out and eat-in dining every summer for nearly a decade. The service is great— warm and friendly. And the food is delicious. This is a no frills place that caters to diners who want to eat great food without all the pomp.

I hate to say anything poorly of a Chinese restaurant (they are usually all wonderful), but I’ve gotten meals for this place on two occasions (I always give a second chance in case the cook was having a bad day) and both were subpar based on any other Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. I’d have to give the food a 5 out of 10. If it was good I would have had it everyday for the week I was in town, but couldn’t bring myself to do more than twice.
