This place may look humble, but my goodness the portions are huge and the prices are cheap. The spicy shrimp combo was the best thing I’ve had in quite a while. For about $10, I had a meal that lasted me two days with an egg roll, shrimp, vegetables, and soup. I will definitely be coming back, and it seemed like a lot of regulars did the same. 10/10

China House restaurant serves typical Americanized Chinese foods at reasonable prices. I ordered food for delivery. My husband and I enjoyed the kung pao shrimp, Szechuan vegetables, chicken with broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, and house special fried rice. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. We plan to order from this restaurant again in the future.

This regular Chinese outlet serves somewhat okay food, making it a suitable option for emergency takeout when you have no other alternatives available. While the food may not be exceptional, it can fulfill your basic Chinese cuisine cravings in a pinch.

We have tried many Chinese restaurants and this is by far our favorite. Fresh tasting food, big portions, no MSG and great prices. We order ahead and when we get there are welcomed by Amy or another team member. The quality is consistent and they even will make my wife special request items. This is a family run gem in the North Hills. My favorite is the house special mei fun. We also enjoy the sesame chicken and the szechuan shrimp. The lunch specials and combination dinner specials are a deal with soup, egg roll and pork fried rice that accompanies the meal.

So we’ve eaten here a few times now and have been getting something different each time. So far everything is exactly as you’d expect except the Mongolian chicken but don’t let that fool you. It’s freaking delicious. I was expecting the standard saucy crispy chicken pieces that you get from the mall but I couldn’t have been further from the mark. There is a bed of fried rice noodles on the bottom and the chicken is thinly shaven and super tender seasoned with what tastes (and feels) like crushed szechuan peppercorn. Granted I did ask for mine extra spicy and it’s achieving it in a way only peppercorn and not pepper powder can do, I highly recommend you ask for it extra spicy too. It lends something to the meal I feel would be missing without the extra heat. The onions and green onion are ever present and there is a fairly thin sauce they were cooked in. I do want to note the tenderness of the chicken, it’s heavenly. I’ve had about as much chicken as any other American and I can say with absolute certainty that this is the most tender chicken I’ve ever had in my life. Whatever this dish is, whether it’s Mongolian chicken or it’s Monhellyesian chicken it’s absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend this, the lo mein, fried rice, teriyaki chicken, crab rangoons, egg drop soup, and sesame chicken.

We live in Cranberry and ever since Hong Kong Chinese in Cranberry closed we have been looking for a good alternative. We think we’ve found it in China House. Great food and I say this as someone who grew up in NYC where great Chinee food can be found in every neighborhood. One of the things hard to find up here is boneless spare ribs. China House makes them great ! However, and here is the rub. They are very inconsistent when they have it. Too may excuses and stories as to why they don’t have it. And the latest, today, is call before 4:30pm and we can make it for you. Well heck why didn’t you tell me that the last three times I asked this week! So bottom line great food (Teriyaki chicken is great so is beef and chicken with broccoli) but don’t understand why boneless spare ribs is so hard to make. In NYC no problem getting it at any neighborhood place. I would give them a five but this thing with the spare ribs drives me crazy!

Great family owned and ran restaurant. Food is always fresh and great. As a Chinese cuisine expert, they know how to cook Chinese food. Always with friendly greetings and pricing is completely within line. We’ve been ordering from this place since we moved up to North Pittsburgh area. This place has become one of our “go-to” weekly dining options. Hungry for Chinese, gotta try this place.

There are other chinese restaurants closer to my house than this place. In fact it’s really out of my way. I keep going though because in the five years I’ve lived in Pittsburgh this place has the best pork fried rice around.

I like this place. Since I moved down here from NE I’ve had a hard time finding good Chinese food. I ask for well done BBQ pork I get it and it’s mmmm good. An all the other dishes I’ve tried are excellent, only thing I’d call them out on is their egg rolls. They usually soaked with oil, over cooked, and on the bland side. Also would love to see them make their own hot mustard and duck sauce. Would make this customer very happy.
