To the folks leaving one star im not sure what you expect from a Chinese buffet in a strip mall but I was pleased with it! 5 stars from me. Update 6-23-23 to the guy that paid for my dinner, thank you!

Staff was friendly over the phone and in person! We were disappointed when China Wok closed in Clifton and happy to hear they took over this location. Food and atmosphere has always been good, and the buffet looked delicious. The location is further for us but still convenient – something to look forward to on the days we need to make a Walmart run. We look forward to dining in!

Food is good when it is hot and available, but sometimes kitchen gets behind with the large number of takeout orders and buffet suffers. Majority of the time there is only one waitress and she does great greeting customers, and taking care of tables.

One of the best Chinese buffets I’ve ever been to. The usual items on the buffet, but none of it was dry or stale. Everything was top notch and tasted great. Service was quick on the refills and removing dirty plates, even during the lunch rush. The overall place was very clean and presentable. Unique decor and wall decorations set it apart from other restaurants. Reasonably priced as well, only about 2/3 of what most others charge. For my girlfriend and I, it only cost $24 for 2 buffets and 2 drinks (free refills of course).

To the new owners of Covington, Va China House: The tea is too sweet, the sweet and sour sauce isn’t what it use to be. I can’t even eat it because it’s so thick and sweet. .. please go back to the way it use to be, otherwise I have a feeling you are going to lose customers.

We have purchased dinner from China House twice. Both times the food was NOT good. The second time I ordered vegetable lomein and cream cheese wontons. The wontons were stale and very few vegetables in the lomein. My wife ordered beef and broccoli and it was mushy. We will NOT be eating there or from there again.

Under new ownership, China Wok’s once revered Chinese cuisine has lost its former glory. The buffet now suffers from inconsistent temperatures, offering dishes that are either scalding hot or disappointingly cold. As a beloved family restaurant for years, this revamped version has left us thoroughly dissatisfied. While there appears to be an attempt to replicate the original recipes, the execution falls significantly short of expectations. We can take solace in our cherished memories of the old China Wok, as this new establishment fails to compare. Despite the new staff being friendly and accommodating, it does little to compensate for the abysmal food quality. Moreover, the steep price of nearly $60 for three people is exorbitant. Consequently, I have no intention of returning.

Rude staff. Food stale. Look elsewhere. Your lack of local cuisine in the area doesn’t force me to eat here anymore. I’ll drive 40 mins for alternatives. Not recommended. Treat customers with warmth and respect. Otherwise what’s the point of you being open?
