Omg the biggest con ever $32 for 2 people for the worst buffet food on the planet and the buffet gets refilled so slightly it’s ridiculous, we took a few bites paid and left to never come back here. They put on billboard you think we are high priced and then compare to fast food places but at least I have such a lower chance of food poisoning at those places. And funny enough we went to McDonald’s afterwards which was a gourmet meal compared to this place.

The food was really good. My 1st impression is man this is not going to be good. Then I made a plate and ate some of the food and was like wow it was surprisingly good. The chicken and broccoli dish had a funny taste to it, just the chicken. Tasted like it could of been road kill and not chicken. Just a weird after taste on that chicken that was in the broccoli. But don’t let that keep you from coming, the food is really good but the restaurant is not so pretty and looks pretty old. For a lunch buffet with “water” you pay 8.50 which is perfect for what you eat, I left full and satisfied. I could even eat dessert which had cakes and cookies and ice cream cups. Thats the good stuff here, the dessert options. The kids seem to eat it up.

In response to the recent post by Mary Wright, I will not confirm or deny your assessment of the “service” since I am not aware of how much service you tend to require. I do NOT hover over tables. I typically check back on tables about every 10 minutes. As far as the other comments, 1 – we have STEAM tables. There is no active flame or burner. Once food is taken away from the pan, it does not hold heat long. That is not us, that is physics. Having a tip jar up at the counter is NOT a request for a tip, that is an OPTION. I have NEVER asked for any gratuity. And lastly, why not say how MUCH you were charged for the water?. 01 is how much. I HAVE TO charge something for the computer to keep track of items. If you are going to complain and bad review a PENNY, then maybe cook at home. People wonder why mom and pops place close.. Stuff like this. People wanting everything for FREE when businesses have to MAKE money to stay opened. If anyone wants to bad review anyone or anywhere, at least fill in ALL the blanks.

Pre Covid this place was fairly decent for Metropolis however my husband and I went in there for dinner on 4/16/23 and was charged $32 for 2 Buffet and 2 drinks. So we went up to the buffet and everything on it looked as if it was there from lunch and everything tasted like it had been there all day and everything was cold except for the 1 fried shrimp dish so that’s what I ate but was hardly $12 worth of food. So the guy comes around with our bill so I asked if they were putting out more of that shrimp and he says I don’t know and was rude about it. So I let it go and sat and watched my husband eat while I waited for the ONLY food that was edible to come back out which didn’t happen till we were leaving. So Mr Rude says they are putting more out and I was like we’re done it’s a little late and the food was cold and we won’t be back. Didn’t bother to apologize much less take something off the bill for serving cold and old dried out food. I should have told him to just charged me for my drink and that I wasn’t paying $12 for nasty food. I didn’t but I won’t ever go back there. If you are local to the Metropolis area I highly suggest making the 40 min trip to Cape Girardeau to the yummy buffet across from the mall everything is fresh and delicious have never had a bad experience there and well worth the drive same price much better food. I don’t even see how this place is even open for real the health department really needs to pop in there because it’s plain nasty.

Me and a friend went there at 2:30 pm, food was $27.50 for two buffet plates. Everything was cold. I ate dessert and we left. Go to chongs or the place in the mall. Cheaper, and much better.

The food was not fresh for being 12:30 lunchtime hours and didn’t have the taste that you would expect from China restaurant. Save your time and money and visit the China wok in marion Illinois you will be happy that you did!

Food looked like it has been left out for hours. Food was cold, only thing that was hot was the pepper shrimp. Wasn’t worth the 34 dollars we paid. Will not be back, will drive the 45 minutes to Cape to eat at their buffet which is much much better
