The chef pays attention to detail! The best Chinese food I ever ate hands down…we ordered the orange chicken which had candied orange in it. Every single dish tasted different and so fresh. It was cooked right in front of us in the galley style kitchen. The vegetable chicken was so delicious…you could taste the fresh lemon in the marinade! And when I opened the house fried rice I could not believe what a beautiful color it was. I could not say enough good things about the attention to detail. Fyi it’s a good idea to call ahead and order over the phone. It is worth the wait.

Overall: First time eating here, CASH ONLY. Was searching for Chinese food while on my stay for training in the area, and found this was the closest to my hotel. Placed my order and the staff on the phone said it’ll take about 30 minutes. Arrived and my order wasn’t ready yet, and discovered it was only the gentleman who managing all services: cooking, answer phones, and processing transactions. Food was very poor: salty for Singapore Mei Fun, the rice in the House Special Fried Rice was hard, Pork Chop Suey and Chicken Hunan was very salty. Only the white rice and Rangoon taste like it typically should at all chinese restaurants. My verdict, travel to Wausau (about 15-20 minutes away) and grab some better food.

You be patient and let that magical man work; usually solo. Lo mein, general tso’s, or anything with shrimp will change your views on chinese food thus ruining your local establishment forever .

This food is not good. Health department or whoever INSPECT for state should pay them a visit. I’ve lived here 10 years and it just keeps getting worse. Tasted like dish soap.

Terible food, long wait, looks trashy, the food here is terrible the rice texture is grainy and the sauce for the chicken is thick like barbecue sauce. I ordered crabragoon and chicken which took 30 minutes snd when i got there the chicken and crab was cold. When i went inside the tiles on the floor were dirty the walls were terrible. If you were to go somewhere for chinese, go to Kues. They never left me down, and have an amazing atmosphere and food.

Ate here several times. Food quality went down over a couple years last meal gave me stomach pain. Stopped eating here. Great location near highway in virtually deserted mall. Front end of restaurant shabby.

Place is run by 1 person who barely speaks English. Call to place an order. When you show up they don’t wait on you. I stood there for 10 minutes had to leave without order cause had to go to work. I called the order in an hour and 10 min before I had to be at work.

To Dana Diels- hoping you are a recently new citizen to Merrill. The China Inn is very, very popular here. It is silently understood that they get extremely busy for lunch 11A- 1P and dinner 5P- 7P. I have called many times and have had a few times where they did not answer- due to there are only 1 full-time cook and another cook/cashier, which causes delays as you can imagine. Best advice- plan ahead as well as you can and experiment with finding the best time to call.
