Late lunch on a Sunday. Food was fresh and hot. Kids loved their orange chicken and chicken lo mein. Hot and sour soup needed some salt and soy sauce. My kung pao chicken was decent. Only canned pop. Place is a bit dated. But, certainly worth the visit.

China jade the best Chinese food place in the West Des Moines area. The lunch specials have great pricing (under $10) and you get an entree, soup and egg roll/crab rangoon. Flavor is great and pick up ordering is really quick. This is easily my first choice when I want Chinese food.

I had family in from out of town and we trusted the reviews and 4 star rating to my embarrassment. There were 5 of us and the food was bland and cheap at best. Two meals were virtually inedible. The server was sullen and unfriendly from the moment we walked in. We ordered extra egg rolls and those and all the egg rolls with our orders were burned. The “casual atmosphere” should say “unclean atmosphere”. The walls are greasy and the restrooms filthy. My Brother-in-law drank half a glass of water before he realized there was a stain ring of tea or soda left in the glass from improper or no washing. The fried rice lacked vegetables and just tasted like greasy rice. We will never go back.

Hunan beef wasn’t very good, the pieces of meat and onions were poorly prepped and too large to eat in a bite but impossible to cut with the cheap fork, plus the beef seemed undercooked. Stellar service and great lunch special prices though.

Good if you’re looking for classic Chinese takeout. The shrimp fried rice and entrees were great but I was not a huge fan of the egg drop soup.

Nice and quiet, the food was great and the server and his parents were super polite. They definitely deserve more business. Could use more drink choices though. But definitely 9 out of 10 in my book

The service was ok. The food tasted kinda blah: a little better, sorta, than the Chinese you buy from the grocery store freezer. Not going back.

I order sweet and sour chicken, magnolia beef, fried rice, sesame chicken, and lo main noodles. Everything I order had a burnt taste. I spent $55. The sweet and Sour sauce was not very good, and also had egg rolls. Everything was burnt and over cooked.

Food has been amazing EVERYTIME! So far sesame chicken is my favorite. They give you generous portions, always nice and fresh. Egg rolls are worth buying extra. Only disappointment is there are only one of these restaurants. Better than Tsing Tsao easily!

Found it using online reviews – food was great and prices were reasonable. Large enough portion sizes that we all took some home – would recommend for great value and casual dining experience.
