The staff at China Kitchen are very friendly. The atmosphere is quiet. The restaurant could use some upgrades to make it more authentic of a Chinese dining experience. The food is served hot and in good portion sizes, but lacks flavor. Asian dishes are known for their robust seasonings, mouth watering and sometimes explosive flavors. Chinese Kitchen needs to hold true to that tradition.

The food was great and the service was excellent. The owner is the niece of the original owners. She has added many options to the menu and they don’t use MSG and only use fresh vegetables. I ordered a Coke and C20 lunch portion of pineapple chicken. It’s a lot food but it tastes great. I chose brown rice and it has BBQ pork in it. If you dine in, you get egg drop soup with it. It also comes with a great eggroll. The total came to $9.78 I will return.

Will go back. One of the few Chinese places in Rio Rancho with good cuisine, and quiet atmosphere. Went here right before a holiday and was amazed that it was so empty. The food was great and my dish was pretty authentic. Husband ordered the crab Rangoon and it was fresh/crispy (not like some of the stale stuff we’ve had around here). Has great lunch specials and I plan to go back as soon as possible.

This has to be in the top 5 Chinese restaurants in New Mexico. The food is great, service is great and bring a big appetite portions are big. Both of my boys always pester me to go there, they love the food. One of my boys will only eat Chinese food at this restaurant. Can’t say enough great things about the place. Just getting hungry for their food writing this.

With all the glowing reviews I was hoping for something really good. But the food was average at best. Fried appetizers were over-cooked and tasted strange, and the chicken pieces in main dish were really small, dry, and tasted a bit off. The sticky white rice was done pretty well, and was really the only thing that really tasted right.

Competitive prices with other Chinese food in Rio Rancho, but not as tasty as others. Our usual restaurant is closed on Tuesdays, so we tried China Kitchen. The staff was nice, but the food was not as good. We had the General Tso’s Chicken and Beef with Broccoli. Nice as the staff was, we probably won’t be returning here…

China Kitchen used to be amazing. I would go there at least twice a week. Today I called in an order and was not informed the previous owners were no longer running the place. I came home, opened the boxes and the food looked completely different. It tasted awful and was not appetizing at all. I am very upset with this change and more upset that nobody informed me the food would be completely different. Very disappointed

The staff was polite, but not really friendly. The service was slow and the Moo Shu chicken was more like scrambled eggs with some chicken, sauce and bamboo shoots. It was kinda gross and definitely not what I was looking for. It was at least 80 percent egg. I was quite disappointed.
