This is my new favorite Chinese restaurant. The food had different but delicious flavors. The rice noodles had a really good ginger taste. The buffet is on weekdays from 11a-3p and the food is made in small portions so it’s always fresh, and you can taste it. This is the best coconut shrimp I’ve ever had. The waitress was very attentive and the other staff was also friendly. Parking is also available in the rear of the building.

My wife and I fell in love with China Star more than a decade ago. The food was well worth the drive from Brownsville, which has no good Chinese restaurants. Today we made the trip for lunch, but never again. The formerly savory dumpling sauce was loaded with sugar and tasted like it came from a pouch. The normally thick, savory egg foo young sauce was over sweet and ran off like water. The egg foo young itself has gone from delicious to bland, the orange beef tough and inedible. We were informed they have a “new chef.” Very sad.

Enjoy the lunch buffet here. Lo mein is tasty along with the chicken teriyaki and fried wontons. The reason I don’t give them a 5 is that one of my favorite dishes is General Tsao’s chicken and theirs isn’t very tasty.

Service was bad, waitress disappeared. Food cold and old not fresh. Place smelled musty and rancid. Prices high and charges for everything including sauces that are supposed to be part of dish. Ordered spring rolls and came with no sauce…overcharged for sweet dipping sauce ..that’s like charging you for soy sauce…ridiculous! Never again! Definitely do NOT recommend! Beware staff very rude and unfriendly!

Went in to have lunch, waitress did not ask if I wanted a menu or buffet. I went ahead and had buffet which was disgusting food was cold and mushy, no flavor looked old. And it was barely 1:30 pm. My favorite dumplings were hard,cold and gross. If you’re gonna charge so much for a buffet make your food better. Use to love this place but since owners have changed its going downhill. Food is gross.

The buffet was TRASH!! 1. Our waitress was no where to be found because she was too busy talking to other workers. 2. The food was HORRIBLE and COLD! My chicken on a stick smelt bad The little donuts are suppose to have sugar but instead had soo much SALT. I use to get food from here a while back (1+ yrs ago) and it was always good not anymore. 3. I told the waitress none of the food was good and I wanted to order a plate for my son since he didn’t like anything on the trash buffet. They finally brought it but still forgot the rice smh. 4. We never got refills on the tea ( waitress still talking like if she didn’t have a job) 5. They didn’t have a changing table in the rr which sucked. 6. The booth had a huge dip (who could eat in a big hole ) 7. We got up to pay to find out they charged for my son who didn’t eat the buffet 2 Adults and 1 4yr old, we ended up paying $59 for TRASH! I had heard alot of complaints but I didn’t think it would be that bad since I use to go there alot. They should be ashamed at how much people complain Never again!
