First time here. They offer dine in, but you have to go up to the counter to place your order, & purchase bottled drinks. The young blonde girls running the front seem inexperienced and not customer service oriented. The people that I assume own the place were friendly & helpful. I ordered sweet & sour chicken. I got chicken fingers, with a side of S&S.. My bf got General Tso chicken. The chicken was so dry! Crab rangoons & rice were good! I feel bad this place seems to be outdated and struggling. Hope it can turn around sometime since there aren’t many good options in Newport.

Me and my daughter enjoyed great dinner. I ordered fried chicken tender with egg roll for appetizers. Main dish Red Meat, teriyaki and Fried rice. My daughter Chow main with broccoli and mushrooms with side fried rice with shredded chicken. Fried noodles and fried crispy noodles.

Was always a favorite of ours when we last lived in Maine 10 years ago. Was so excited to see still extremely friendly staff, relaxing ambiance, and outstanding food. We grabbed takeout for my parents after we ate. Everything was delicious! Prices are still awesome compared to similar around the US. Highly recommend! First off, there are no alcohol beverages, hasn’t been since covid came through. You place your order at the front and they bring it to your table. Ordered pupu for 2 and vegetable lo me in. Everything was good except for the ragoons had no flavor and the breading on the chicken fingers were off. I don’t know if maybe they weren’t cooked long enough or what. Large portion so enough for left overs.

Food is great, depending on what you order. Avoid the Crab Rangoons; they are just hot cream cheese in soggy dough. No flavor whatsoever. House special noodles are the bomb (also known as Singapore noodles). People are friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is from 1992 and hasn’t been updated. You can sit and eat, but there is no service, which really isn’t a big deal. Overall, it’s the most consistently good option for Chinese style cuisine in the area.

I’ve always loved Chinaway. I have been going there since I was 4 or 5 years old. Love their pork fried rice and their orange chicken. The people who work there are always nice. And I always love seeing Mrs. Yao.
