This is cheap take-out – what do you expect? The food is basically tolerable, but certainly not good. Textures are off; some dishes resemble wet, mystery-meat seasoned (not unpersuasively) to be Chinese take-out. Mostly I was disappointed by the lady who helped me. Her attitude was not just apathetic, but flat out unfriendly. Chinese Delight seems all but indifferent to its clientele. In sum, probably avoid this place if you have a sense of propriety; otherwise, pig out.

Looking at some of the other reviews, I feel like these people ordered from another restaurant or are just trying to sabotage. This place is fantastic. I don’t commonly review because I only go out of my way to do it when warranted. My wife has not been happy with a single Chinese restaurant in the Philadelphia area until we found this one. Where we live, I cross my fingers every time, hoping we’re still in their delivery range. I guess some people need their food MSG’d to hell rather than enjoying actual ingredients. If the latter is what you want, this is the place.

I ordered delivery from this restaurant, and I had a very pleasant meal! I ordered the Amazing Chicken, which of course amazing. The white rice that came with is was so nice to mix into the chicken. (I was only 25 when I learned that the rice isn’t so much a side, but rather something to mix into the chicken dish.)

This was my second time ordering from this restaurant. The first time was a pick up order of chicken lo main. It was good and a tad too greasy. Good portion size. Today I ordered online through Beyond. I was 0.25 short of the $15 minimum so I ordered an extra egg roll…no big deal. With delivery fees, tax etc my total came to $21.01. I opted to tip in cash and selected the box for such vs the predetermined 10, 15, 20 percent. I received a call from the restaurant shortly after asking if I was in an apartment building. I stated no, there are several apartments on the street. I suspected they were at the wrong address. The driver was not here. My assumption is that the driver hadn’t left the restaurant yet because it took another 10 mins and its a 3 minute drive from here. I preface with all this because her next question or statement was “the tip is not included…you know that right…do you want to tip?” I was shocked and flabbergasted. I was standing at the door expecting to help the driver locate me, yet I was receiving a call about the lack of tip. I always tip in cash when I’m able. I have all my life even when dining in. I told her I selected the cash box and she said oh do you have cash, I’m sorry I’m sorry. I told her to just cancel my order! She apologized again and I said ok. I’m curious if this has happened to others. The food is what I expect from an inexpensive Chinese restaurant, greasy. The wonton were very dark and greasy and clearly refried. It will be my last time ordering from there. MK across the street would never!

No wonder why people give less ratings and negative comments. I didn’t see the rating here and just ordered cos I had no other option at that time. This restaurant’s foods sucks. Was unable to eat even one spoon. They first take order for veggie rice but then make many calls and say that they have eggs on it, mushrooms and chicken broth on it . Food definitely sucks here. No salt no spice no taste. Pls don’t buy from here if u want to spend your money for good food. Not even worth for one star. Would rather starve than buying here.

This place is gross. I have only had takeout twice but both times the general tso is so chewy I have to spit it out. Lo mein seems super old. Like that’s an easy dish why is it old and gross? Egg roll today was not even good! I rarely leave bad reviews. My cousin sent me food from this place today to cheer me up not knowing anything about our area and it was just so disappointing. Like it’s not that hard to put out good Chinese takeout.

in my experience, for every 10 local chinese restaurants, only 1 will be good. And i believe Chinese Delight is that one! Incredible food, prompt/early delivery, neatly organized and labeled orders.
