Loved their Taiwanese night market style sizzling steak, which I don’t think it’s easy to find these days anymore. The steak came with an egg, corn, pasta, corn soup and a complementary black or green tea of your choice. They have a big menu, they also sell stinky tofu (and even bbq stinky tofu) braised pork rice, beef noodles and so many Taiwanese street food. Oh they also have Taiwanese bentos with pretty reasonable prices too. Most importantly, the flavors were authentic. Will be returning soon!!

We arrived right at 5pm and placed an order to go. Wait time was about 20-30 minutes for the to-go order. We tried the kimchi dumpling, pork and chive dumplings, scallion pancake, pork cutlet, pork long bao, and minced pork noodle. The food was very good, but on the pricier side for the amount of food you receive. We were told they would text us when our order was ready, but we never received a text. By 5:30 the in-person wait time there was already 1 hour.

So glad I found this place! Brings up great memories from Taiwan. The night market steak can be hit or miss tho… Sometimes the meat is tender and tasty, sometimes the steak is overcooked and stiff.

Sizzling steak is a Taiwanese dish and its signature flavor is the black pepper sauce. Throw in a mini lobster tail and an egg on top of spaghetti, and this is a great surf and turf. I craved this dish! I must say that it satisfied me tremendously. You’d think that’s all I need, but no, I’m in LA to EAT! Good thing I got friends to share because I couldn’t have finished all those dishes. This place has tons of things on its menu, perhaps too many items. It’s difficult to master and perfect all those items. I would have given this place a 5-star based on the sizzling steak, but some of the other items were so-so. Hence, it’s only 4 stars. The stinky tofu wasn’t that stinky. The fried pork intestines were a nice touch. I liked the pork blood cake though. Good thing we had 2 of those cuz I think I “accidentally” finished one by myself.

The service was great. The food was cooked well. The meats were all tender and not over cooked. Some of the sauces was too sweet for my tastes but appropriate for Taiwanese cuisine. Be aware that the menu says the sauce on the side but it was on top. The black pepper sauce is not sweet and tastes good. The mushroom sauce and the sauce on the shrimp was too sweet. I did not like the flavor of the free black tea. Also, the black tea is already sweetened.

I felt like I was robbed. I ordered a $6.95 fried squid and it came in the size of my palms. Service is good but the food is just a big no no to me. That serving size will fit no adult human being on this earth
