This was our 1st time here and we will be returning! Food was delicious and seasoned well. We both had the horseshoe and it came with a toasted bun, 2 burger patties, a handful of fries and LOTS of white queso cheese! Restaurant was clean minus the few water marks on the ceiling tiles, employees were very friendly and service was actually really fast! Would recommend to anyone wanting a good burger or kielbasa with your choice of toppings, this is the spot for you!

You’re going to have to search a little to find this place, because it isn’t well marked (it’s behind the main building on the Illinois Veterans Home campus… look for the little building with the post office box out front). It’s worth looking for, though, because the food is great, everyone is friendly, and the prices are low — $4 for a BLT and less than $5 for a Chicken Wrap. There are only a few tables inside and more outside (but still inside the main building), but I doubt this place gets too busy due to it’s hidden location. Go there if you’re visiting the All Wars Museum or folks at the Veterans Home, or just go there to get some good, cheap eats!

CHOMPZ has the BEST specialty burgers in town. I had a little trouble finding it with Google Maps on the VA Base, but of course, the vets helped me out! Got the Florida Sunrise this time and it’s wonderful as always.

This was our first time here and we had an awesome experience. Friendly and clean environment (floors a little sticky in front of counter) but other than that it’s a wonderful atmosphere. Food was hot and fresh. Even got to meet Steve the owner. Very nice man with a great smile. Amazing food and even beverages/teas. The sides were awesome too. Cheese curds,skillet beans, funnel cake fries oh my!!!!

Paid a lot of money for a burger that was worse than a fast food burger. Paid $8 for the burger alone and there was barely any sauce or anything else. The patty was dry and the cheese felt like it was melted an hour before I got the burger. For these prices and what I got, I don’t believe I will be back.

If you’re looking for a good place to eat… don’t come here. Any other fast food place has better burgers and you won’t wait half the time I did. Chicken strips tasted like they were straight out of a middle school cafeteria.
