the latest on Charles is that they’re only open from 4 to 10 Tuesday through Thursday due to of all things lack of staff!! Good food great prices….. Lunch for two for less than $25 and it was very good… Staff member who took my order was not very friendly with no eye contact or so much as a smile during our transaction… I am generally a good tipper, but that definitely affects how much of a tip I leave. I will return because the food is good but there will be no tip for unfriendly staff, especially since this is a “pick up your order at the counter” place.

The cleanliness here is suffering and I am surprised I eat here. Any other restaurant this would be a red flag but the food is very good. I have only had the orange chicken level 7 and it’s great.

Amazing Chinese place really love the sweet and sour chicken and how crispy it is. Ironically though I don’t like their sweet and sour sauce, it gives me heartburn, but other than that everything is really well made. Only 1 issue is that the rice is a tiny bit dry, but not enough to really take. Star away.

Went there around 9:15 on a Tuesday. While the staff was polite, they acted like I was an inconvenience when I wanted to check my order. I ordered all four appetizers they offered as well as one dinner, The chicken chow mein with sweet and sour pork to go. So the dinner was in one to go box, with the chicken chow mein being the main dish and the sweet and sour pork just being deep fried pork parts. I was told that the sweet and sour sauce I was given for my appetizer was to be put on my sweet sour pork. This is not how that works. Stop cutting corners. Sweet and sour pork was mostly dough. Chicken chow mein was mostly vegetables. With the exception of the two meat appetizers, the egg rolls and the crab rangoon were mostly dough. Very disappointing food. They add a big scoop of white rice to my order for no reason. Will not be returning. This place is a rip off. The sweet and sour pork barely has any pork in it. Mostly breading. The skewers tasted like they were made in the morning and sat under heat lamps all day. The crab rangoons are flat with almost no cream cheese or crab in them. The only thing redeeming about this meal is the egg rolls.

Mediocre service, bland food, cleanish restaurant. This is an order a dish at the counter then it is brought to you type of place. Prices are reasonable. Meal with a drink is about $6-8. Lady waited on me and was running around and talking to other people while I tried to order. Fried rice is boring, chicken bland and dry, hot and sour soup is pretty good. Huge portions. Dining room feels clean, bathroom is poorly lit and yucky looking. They watch CNN so that doesn’t help… nothing better than hearing crappy news (disclaimer: all major news channels are crappy) while I eat lunch.

Worst “food” I’ve ever eaten. I had to wait 25 minutes. The bourbon chicken was more like watered down sweet and sour sauce with grilled chicken and the combination lo mein had what seems to be a chicken heart?! I don’t know what this is but I am NEVER going here again. Please no one waste your time here and go further up York Street to Magic Wok. I also found a hair in my lo mein. I didn’t even finish my food because I was so disgusted.

Absolutelyyy amazing! It was pretty clean for the most part considering usual joints like this, the ladies up front were friendly as could be and I really appreciated them treating me like a friend. They were having issues with their card machine but informed me right away and plainly as I could see were trying as quickly as possible to fix the problem which was resolved quickly. The food was just.oh my goodness so delicious! I got the sesame chicken and wontons, with duck sauce as well and it seriously blew me away. I loved it

The food was okay, and the service was very nice. My egg roll was over done and shattered on the first bite. The Hunan beef was so hot I couldn’t really eat it in the time I was able to be in lunch. The SS chicken was kind of a disappointment, as you really dont get much chicken but a small string of it. The teriyaki chicken was amazing, I would go back for that!

I definitely don’t see how this place has over 4 stars. The cleanliness of this restaurant is in the negative numbers. The box-fan blowing into the kitchen was 2” deep in dust, the counters, cabinets, and window ledges were filth, and I’m being modest. The food was bland. The lady taking our order was not friendly at all. Please listen and do not go here unless you wanna be grossed out. My 2 kids were even disgusted.
