BEWARE! This restaurant is under new management with a completely different menu which has little resemblance to what you will find on their website or others. This review seems to be the first since 2020, and I think it is safe to ignore any reviews before 2022. Big changes for a little restaurant with no public notice. (There is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for not having an updated menu on their website!)

Stayed at this hotel for a concert across the street on a Saturday night. After the concert we went to the bar. It was 11 and they were supposed to be open until 12. On their website they promoted the bar for after the show. We got our drinks and were told we had to drink in the lobby. They were closing. They said there was no business and decided to close early. At least 20 people came in with us from the concert. Some didn’t even get served. I spoke to the hotel manager. Someone from the bar was supposed to contact me, but that never happened. The customer service was disappointing.

I was born and raised in and around New Brunswick. It is a city which I love above all others. Over the last few years I have made several unsuccessful attempts to dine at Christopher’s, simply from not being able to determine if they were serving or not from their poorly designed website. Recently tried again and their voice mail reservation message is from Valentine’s Day….LoL. This is June, that was February. When i mentioned it to the hotel front desk they said they’ve mentioned to restaurant staff countless times, so what gives?? If you guys wanna play in the big leagues, given the AMAZING resources you have directly across the street you need to have way more attention to simple detail. We’re going to Salt before the show at the State Theater.

Horrible. Ate there before a show. Waited 15 minutes and no one came over. When we waved to a server she shot us a dirty look and said I’ll be there in a minute. We waited 5 more minutes and I then walked to the bar and asked the bartender to put in my order. We wanted to get to the theater on time so ordered burgers. They were expensive and nothing special. Would definitely not go back.

Our dinner was just awful. We made a reservation for a Wednesday night at the restaurant for 6 people. We arrived and the restaurant was closed so we had to sit in the bar. The server had no idea a table of 6 was coming in. It was at least 10 minutes before our server came over. We ordered drinks and food at the same time.

I went here b/c their Burger was raved about in NJ Mag. Be prepared to be OVERCHARGED for a bland burger. In all seriousness, 5-Guys makes a better burger. I honestly do not know how their burger won #2 spot as best burger in NJ. Bland is Bland, what else can I say. Not even the toppings that dressed the burger helped. Let me not forget to mention that they burned the fries they served me. This really makes you question the credibility of their chefs. They should have never served those fries.

The food is very WEIRD here. I have been staying at the heldrich hotel for 2 weeks now and i had lunch here everyday and the options are just very very weird. There are no basics, no subs, pasta, the pizza only contains seafood. The food isn’t bad its just really weird.
