Let me start by saying that Chubby’s is always a decent place to visit and the food is usually pretty good. This particular Chubby’s is always smoke-filled to the point where it’s almost difficult to breathe, the lady had a hard time understanding what I was asking for even though I had it in text form on my phone and showed her verbatim what was on the screen and she still entered it incorrectly. They did fix it rapidly and get me on my way but that was rather annoying. The price point is decent. Can’t complain about that. Overall for a quick bite, it’s a decent place to stop in.

Chubby’s has always been a favorite place of mine to eat whenever I am in town, but boy have they dropped the ball with their employees and service! I stopped in with my family on Saturday, 1/21 for lunch and 3 young girls were running the place. Once we placed our order, we waited, and waited, and waited all while seeing everyone around us (even including people that ordered after us) eating their food or getting Togo orders. My Dad went up front to make sure they hadn’t forgotten about us and was told that they were making ours. So we waited, and waited and waited some more, so my Dad asked a second time about our food. Come to find out, the girl at the register had forgotten to print out our ticket. Okay, so accidents happen, I understand that. Here is the kicker…they continued to make other peoples food that came in after us all while we continued to wait!!!! Please keep in mind at this point we had been waiting OVER AN HOUR!!!!! At this point I was furious as anyone would be in my situation. I demanded a refund. The girl tried to argue with me, but I told her I would happily talk to a manager (which of course no one was there) but that I was not leaving until I was fully reimbursed. She reluctantly gave me my money. When we finally did get our food, it was terrible! I couldn’t even eat mine nor did the rest of my family. Right before we left, I guess a “manager” (the girl looked hardly old enough to drive) came in and the girl that had gave me my money back started talking about me, loud enough so that I could hear. (That right there is completely unprofessional and shows a lack of maturity). She was saying that I couldn’t go anywhere not even to Arby’s and get service any quicker. I’m sorry, but yes I could have. After an hour and 30 minutes, I could have ate at a fine dining restaurant. Here is my advice for the owners…get rid of your little teenagers or at least get a competent adult to oversee them. I have even heard from others that the food and service is terrible on the weekends and they will only eat through the week when the older ladies are working. I hate to say it, but Chubby’s has lost my business. Do something about your employees and managers or else you won’t have a business for long with people like that representing your company.

I dont know what happened to my favorite restaurant….. we used to be so excited to treat ourselves with chubbys…but now they’re disgusting. I ordered once through their online access and it was really bad…I thought it might just be a fluke because it was night throughout the week. So today, I went in to do takeout. This is the result. It’s gross! What happened to the cut up onions and lettuce, tomatoes…goodies? Now it might as well be a sandwich from a gas station. I’m so sad. Whoever the owner is, needs to get their crew with the program and back to what kept this business thriving.
