Yes they are open after the storm. This place was delicious. We are from South Texas and we know good Mexican food and this place passes our test. We had the milanesa, fajita tacos and chicken quesadillas… terrific. The salsa is also very tasty. Very nice staff too, we will be back for sure.

Chula’s, absolutely the best authentic Mexican meal selections! Delicious large servings at a completely affordable price! Bottomless basket of fresh tortilla chips and salsa (try the white cheese dip). Call ahead for business hours…

The food is excellent, and the staff is always friendly. They really make you feel like family. Also, there is sometimes live music, and his guitar skills are wonderful. My husband gets the burrito Grande, and it is very filling.

Oh it was a “haunt” I understand we are still recovering from a storm. But if your doors are open I’d expect to enjoy my food. Would not reccomend. My friend said the enchilda was bland. I ordered a medium hamburger (because there are no tortillas for the tacos..? But the fajitas come with a side of tortillas?) Its a hockey puck with cheese. About as tough as one. We both left over half our plates.

Excellent taste, great variety. Consistently excellent customer service. Busy during lunch, but service is fast. Menu options you won’t find at most Mexican restaurants. Best fried ice cream around.

We ate here a month ago for the second time and were again delighted. The service is quick and hospitable. The food tastes home made and you cannot beat the value.

Yikes. Just don’t go here. FYI, it’s no longer Chula’s by Rita. It’s now called Taqueria Sanchez. Not even joking when I tell you that there were just 2 tables of 4 ahead of us that hadn’t yet received their food and we waited about an hour to get ours. Server was nonexistent throughout our extremely mediocre meal, which honestly is probably for the best because I’m assuming this was her first day as a server. Or any type on employee at all. The chips were saturated with oil and many were soggy. We had to ask for more chips and salsa and when we got to the bottom of the basket, we discovered a paper wrapper from a straw we dropped in there at the end of the last basket. Not sure why we didn’t get a new basket. Oh and one person asked for “crema” and we got ranch dressing??? What?! The meal was WAY too much money for what we received. $44 for the four of us and despite also polishing off two baskets of oily chips, nobody is very full. At the very end of the meal (without ever seeing our server, btw), a different server arrived and asked if we needed anything and I said we needed water. She asked “which cups?” Um. All of them. They’re all empty..??? We literally had to stand by the register trying to pay for at least 15 minutes. She couldn’t figure out how to read her own handwriting to ring up our (and the other table’s) meals and allow us to pay. It was a giant mess. I’m not even kidding. There’s more but I’ve already written a novel. Just don’t. I wish we’d gone to Taco Bell. It would’ve tasted better, we would’ve spend about $20 less, and we’d be home already.
