We had a completely “meh” experience at the Ciciotti’s in Carlsbad. Service was decent but not great. Food was mediocre and overpriced. We ordered one of the specials (pappardelle with seafood) but neglected to ask the price — the dish ended up being $55. Not knowing that was was on us, since we forgot to ask (although typically in restaurants, they tell you the pricing for things that aren’t marked on the menu), but we wouldn’t have ordered the special had we known how expensive it was. It might have been worth it, if the dish had tasted great, but it was totally mediocre. While the piece of lobster that was featured was fairly large, it was completely overcooked and rubbery — we didn’t eat more than a couple of bites of it, even though lobster is one of our family’s favorite foods. In all fairness, the scallops were nicely seared and tasty. The sauce, though, was only so-so. The dish would have been disappointing at half the price. The other dish we got — pasta carbonara — was bland. The sauce tasted jarred and the pancetta didn’t have much flavor. We had also ordered a caprese salad, but that never arrived. Given how expensive the papparedelle was, it’s just as well we didn’t get it. At least they didn’t try to charge for it. Also, there was super loud music, so conversation was challenging. All in all, NOT recommended unless you’re not very picky about Italian food.

The overall experience was amazing. My husband had the pepperoni cazone and was in love. I had the spaghetti polomero fresco. Probably the best pasta, I had from any restaurant so far. My daughter loved her kids spaghetti. This will be our go to spot when we visit Carlsbad. The service was amazing the staff was very attentive and had great suggestions.

This place a nice outdoor seating area. Our server was friendly and recommended some of her favorite dishes. I ordered the spaghetti al pomodoro frenco. The sauce was light which I love. You can’t go wrong with that this dish. I also tried some of the ravioli d’aragosta. The sauce was pretty tasty but after a few bites this a dish that gets very heavy. Overall this not a bad spot to try. They had live music which is a plus for me.

Went here for date night and we were very happy with our choice. There was live and service was great. Very attentive and very personable. It’s a little pricey, but completely worth it. Our food had robust flavor and they were not shy on the seafood. We left stuffed and happy.

What an amazing experience this was! They treated our family of 4 with 2 young kids amazingly! We got several dishes to try and I about died and went to heaven with their Alfredo sauce. It was so enjoyable we went back 2 days later as we ended our trip. This will be a repeat visit whenever we visit Carlsbad!

I really enjoyed the food here, we had fettuccine Alfredo and a calzone both were freshly made and delicious, the wait team (Nick/Victor) were spot on. I would definitely come back.

Happy hour here is amazing. The meatballs are so good and the cocktails are solid. The bread is super soft like a cloud. All the food coming out of the kitchen smelled so good. This might be my new happy hour spot.

Service is slow. Make sure you’re not starving when you get in this restaurant. I normally rate the quality of the bread in regards to the food. When the bread is good, the food is good. Not at this place. The bread is tasteless and cold. Italian table serves crusty, loafy, and hot bread. I ordered lasagna, which is my favorite . I was so disappointed. There was nothing recommendable about this dish. The tomato sauce is raw. It’s sour, no flavor. My husband ordered something we don’t remember. There was nothing memorable about what the dish was. We came to this place just to check out the food. We we’re seated by the window, and the tiny bugs kept us entertained and yaky at the same time. Nope. I’m not going back. I will stick to my oldest Italian restaurant on State St.
