We have been going to this place for years. The owners changed last year and I have read some not so good reviews but give them some time to get it together. We have eaten there twice in the last month and it was very good. The homemade potato chips are fantastic, along with the corn nuggets and shrimp. Prices are as high as anywhere else you go so expect to pay about $10 or more on each meal. So if you haven’t been in a while, give them another try.

This place is so good. We started with the fried mushrooms, then added 3 different plates. Between all 3 of us we had fried catfish, shrimp fried and grilled, popcorn shrimp, okra, and sweet potato fries. The food was amazing and the server was so nice. We will definitely be back! Only thing is I wish we lived closer.

The hubby and I used to love to eat here. 9 years ago when we met it’s where we went on our first date because it was close. I’m very sad that it no longer is the place it used to be. Tonight we ate dinner there for the last time. The Chicken Fried Chicken portion is now 1/2 of what it used to be yet the price is more. The gravy was like paste but all still tasted okay. The thing that was the absolute worst about tonight was about 1/2 way through our meal we ran out of our drinks. We didn’t see our waitress one time after she dropped the food off. Our salad plates were never removed from the table, mainly because they brought the food about 3 minutes after they delivered the salad and since the last time we saw her was dropping the food, I guess she couldn’t be inconvenienced to come by again to see if we needed more soda. Then I had to flag down the girl that seats people to even get our check….If you are going to have kids work for you, you should teach them how to take care of customers. When the little gal asked me if everything was okay I expressed my feelings to her about not getting another soda and she said she was busy…there were 2 other tables in her section, one with 2 people and one with 4…., so she was REALLY busy (sarcasm isn’t expressed well in typed words). So disappointing. Like I said, this used to be a great place.

I made reservation 2 weeks in advance for a retirement party of 17. When we got there had to wait for them to put tables together. Our server was very nice and got all orders correct. The food was alright but not anything special that I would return for but would return if someone ask us to go there. The price was a little high for what the food was, but you do get plenty food, we did not go away hungry.

The first time my in laws introduced to this restaurant I was so blown away with how delicious everything was. Recently my in laws invited my family and I and I can honestly say I was so embarrassed to bring them here. The customer service was gone, restrooms were nasty, and the food was anything but good. Everything I had told my family about how “great” this place was went out the window. The food was way too salty and fried. We had to wait so long just to get refills. In the women’s restroom there was someone’s hair straightener plugged in and makeup that is just trashy. Sad that my in laws used to like this place and enjoyed making the drive from Haltom just to eat some “good” catfish. We will definitely not return or give this place anymore business.

Will not be returning. Place smelled like cigarette. My favorite food used to be the fresh flakey catfish, cornbread hush puppies and home made red mashed potatoes. Can’t say the same anymore. Fish was not good or fresh. Hush puppies had a frozen taste and the mashed potatoes came out of a box w/o gravy. The shrimp had a spoiled smell and to top of our entire experience the server decided to pre-tip herself $8 at my table of 4. My daughter literally only ate her tarter sauce. My husband was the only one who cleared his plate. By all means I love to tip great… if it’s deserving, but when she forgot our drink order twice, forgot our straws, then dropped and dashed our food…. then no, don’t presume you earned it. Unfortunately it’s also poorly staffed so I’m not sure if this is why the place has gone to hell but I’m really sad.

I had a great experience here. The fried pickles were awesome. Beer was cold and the food was hot, tasty and prompt. The atmosphere is kind of an eclectic sports bar. They could use a NATCA sign or three.

Food is delicious, waitress was really friendly. They did only have one waitress at 6:30 on a Thursday night and their credit card reader was down. But if those are one time occurrences, great place.

Coming from a catfish connoisseur, the catfish was above average but the reason for 5 stars is their Po Boy was amazing, fries were fresh and delisious, and the service was fantastic! Great place to come if you’re passing by.
