WOW. the best Chinese I’ve ever had. Boyfriend and I got the sesame and orange chicken with two spring rolls. Normally with Chinese food I don’t ever eat the big pieces of chicken and this chicken was spectacular!! Crunchy with good flavor. Not one tough or chewy piece of chicken. Big portions.

I came right at closing so they made my food fresh, it was piping hot for over 20mins in the bag. It was amazing!!! We got the orange chicken and chicken fried rice and that was the BEST orange chicken and fried rice I’ve ever had. The cashier was on tik tok and took a long time to respond to my order but besides that my food was done in 10mins, the other lady behind the counter was friendly and attentive, and it was delicious.

Excellent! Owners were mindful of food allergies and honored special requests. Sweet and sour chicken and pork deserves an award. The sauce is packed full of flavor and the chicken and pork still crispy after the commute to take it home. Mongolian chicken with a nice amount of kick. Honey spicy shrimp great flavor.

Never in my 60 years have I ever had white rice at the Chinese place that wasn’t thick and sticky. This rice was a it was thin like it had been rinced after cooking. This is not new. If you’re actually concerned why not get some from your competitor across the street and post a close-up photo of both.

We ordered the appetizer sampler, spicy honey shrimp, Kung pao chicken & orange chicken. The appetizer was missing the tempura shrimp, which was the reason we ordered the sampler…so that was frustrating. Everything was ok, but Panda Express is more flavorful. We were visiting the area & wanted to try something quick & comparable to Panda Express but different. We wish we would have just gone with Panda…it is much better.

I really enjoyed my visit to City Dragon. If you are looking for fancy, then keep looking. If you are looking for some good Chinese food at a reasonable price then this is it! They have a small parking lot in front but it’s shared by three small restaurants and a laundromat so you might have to park on the street at lunch time. The place is clean and the menu is large. I ordered black pepper beef off the lunch specials listed on the front counter. It came with white rice but I paid a little extra for fried. It came out quickly, and was hot and fresh. This place is clearly owner operated… A big plus in my book. They told me that they had been open for almost 13 years! Check them out next time you in the El Cajon Blvd area. They are open for lunch and dinner.

City Dragon is one of my go to spots for great take out. You can order online or order by phone. Both are just as efficient and your order is ready relatively quickly. We have had nearly everything and love all the dishes. Always parking and fast friendly service.
