First visit and definitely not the last. If you want Texas style brisket this is the place. Robbie and Team are so very friendly. The wait in line isn’t so bad since they let you start tab and grab a drink, but you should plan to be there early because it will take time till your turn comes up. As for the food everything great but you better get those Brisket and pork belly burnt ends. They also go great with Korean noodle cups too. The coleslaw is mmm good. Give it a try well worth it!!!! I felt so good all day.

I’ve tried BBQ all over the US and have made my rounds to the top joints around South Carolina. City Limits stands with the giants in terms of quality. The attention given to the meats, sides, sauces, and other goodies is fine dining level. Saturday service is busy now, but this place is going to absolutely blow up once word gets out to the masses. Wouldn’t be surprised if the Food Network pops in for a visit some day. Way to go!

OMG, everything was great!! The sliced brisket and pulled pork melts in your mouth. The hot sausage had just the right amount of heat. The beans and pimento cheese were delicious. All the sauces were on point. The customer service was outstanding…everyone was so friendly. Will definitely make this a routine Saturday visit.

Texas style, SC style, whatever style you like BBQ this is THE PLACE to get it when in/near the capital city! Pro tip, always check the socials for the most up to date menu and stock levels, but no matter what is on the menu, it’s worth the trip. Don’t sleep on the sides and desserts either, trust me. Robbie and his crew take such care with the food, prep, and service I guarantee you won’t regret checking this place out! Coal smoked ribs, sausages, pork belly burnt ends, wings, collards, pimento cheese, and so much more oh my!

Meat is (rightly) the star of the show here. Brisket and hill country sausage are both excellent. The pulled pork is very good. Hash and rice is good to fair – it could be that I just miss the tang of the “gross parts” which chef has decided he doesn’t want in the hash. These guys only recently opened (as of August 2023) for on-site meals, so patience is needed for long lines. Overall, considering they are a brand new place, and unique in SC for offering Texas-style barbecue: excellent.

I’d love to tell you this is terrible and keep this place all to myself, but it would be the biggest lie. This place is fantastic. Their hours may say they open at 11:30, but get there EARLY!! It is absolutely worth standing in line and worth the price because it is all prepared to perfection and absolutely delicious. Super friendly service, and you can take it for eat-in on their deck or to go. They’ve got great sides, sauces, and drinks (including beer) in the coolers to go. I got sliced brisket and ribs, and it’s enough for several meals. So, so good.

While passing through Columbia in route to the beach we got the hankering for some South Carolina Barbecue. Googled “barbecued near us” and City Limits popped up. With 48 five-star reviews we decided to give them a shot! When we approached the building we almost decided to take a pass because it is a ramshackled, old building. But again, we decided to take a chance, and we are so glad we did! The chopped pork was tender, free of fat, and VERY tasty. The coleslaw and baked beans were delicious! And the portions were generous. We enjoyed our dine-in lunch so much we went back inside to take some to the beach. You can be sure future trips through SC will include a stop here!

Good Lord! The pulled pork was some of the best I’ve ever had. The ribs are absolutely RIDICULOUS! There wasn’t any part of them that didn’t fall off the bone. The collards were devine. One of our staples at any BBQ restaurant we go to is to try the collards. These didn’t disappoint. My bf said the brisket was so good he didn’t want to put sauce on them. He loves tasting different sauces. My guy is from Wisconsin & was deprived of great BBQ his whole life y’all. He’s making up for lost time We absolutely LOVE this place. The peach cobbler was so delicious. I haven’t had such good peach cobbler since my grandfather passed. This stuff was on point. The only negative things I have to say is they sell out of things pretty quick AND they’re not open 24/7.
