Top quality-friendly-professional everything from the moment we set foot in the door. We’re vegetarian and had great choices. Beer flights, pretzel, falafel, bean burger, coleslaw that played like a salad, beer-battered fries, killer cookies for dessert and heard others ordering cheesecake. (Next time.) Locals kept coming in wishing a fellow diner Happy Birthday because “we heard around town it was his birthday.” The Civilian team made us feel right at home, too.

A charming restaurant near Mccormicks creek state park. They have a list of their beers while all sounded good but we did not get any since we went a bit early in the day. The large pretzel was excellent and came with dipping sauces which were also great. You can top the Mac and cheese with a list of options, we chose the pulled pork. It comes without any sauce so we asked for some BBQ on the side and WOW! It was spectacular. We will definitely be back when we’re in the area.

Second time we’ve been there,as we live in Lafayette. Both times the food was excellent, especially the civilian burger, best burger I’ve had in a long time. The boys had the beer flights which they enjoyed very much. Mozzarella cheese Stix were wonderful also. Hopefully we will be back next year.

We stopped in on a motorcycle ride through Lawrence, Monroe, Owen and Greene Counties. I had the Civilian Burger and fries dressed with poutine. My husband had wings and fries dressed with beer cheese and bacon. The food was delicious. I didn’t love the beer options. A friend and I had two different beers that tasted so similar we thought our orders were mixed up. That didn’t distract from the food, though. With craft beer, I always figure you win some and lose some. The service was great, and we enjoyed visiting a new place.

These place is very laid back. I enjoyed the food and let me tell you that it was delicious. Elegantly displayed meal with the metal sauce cups. I had the grilled cheese with bacon which I didn’t know existed . you have changed me with that sandwich . Thank you for the hospitality my bartender was a sweetheart. I will definitely have to eat here again I highly recommend this place.

I’ve been here three times now, and absolutely love it! My family makes sure to swing by any time were in the area. The food is really, really good and the waiting staff is really friendly and quick. We were also given free stickers after visiting, which is always an added bonus.

Great establishment for the location! Service was during a slow period just before early early dinner rush. Waitress was attentive and responsive. The 4 instead of 5 comes from the burger which was pressed wafer then and cooked until it was well overdone, causing it to be dry and sub-standard for something named The Standard. Fries were cooked to absolute perfection and the presentation is something I didn’t think I’d find in this sleepy part of Indiana. Beers were varied and delicious but nothing stood out as mind blowing or unique as far as craft beer goes. This place overall was quite a shock and I’ll definitely be back when they rotate the taps!

Very good food that offers something different in Spencer. I ordered the Cuban and was very satisfying for the price. The service was excellent and I enjoyed the atmosphere. All around great place to enjoy a burger and brew, highly recommended!
