I got the curry goat roti, side of fried dumplings, and side of white rice. The curry was on point and absolutely delicious. The fried dumplings are similar to johnny cake but a little denser. The man who helped me was very kind and efficient getting my order made and out. I would definitely suggest stopping in for the service and roti.

I stopped in from outta town b/c I was referred to this place & I’m so glad I did. The food was delicious…not too spicy so I could actually enjoy the flavor of the food. The staff was outgoing & friendly. This pic is the 1st time I went, oxtail…greens & mac n cheese. I specifically told him I wasn’t coming back if wasn’t any good & guess what!?! I went back. 2nd time, I ordered the curry chicken…yams & cabbage so needless to say, any time I’m in JC…I’ll be stopping by!

This was my first time at Clacken’s, and my food plate was plentiful. I ordered curried chicken (really good), collard greens (excellent) and macaroni and cheese (just ok). Friendly service which was nice. I will definitely go back to try different menu items.

Only giving this two stars because of the two ladies who were at the register. I went the first few weeks after opening up. The servers are nice. The cook was rude and fish & rice my boyfriend and I ordered was nasty. I’m Jamaican so I know good island food. Maybe they have better options there….I don’t know. Hopefully they’ve gotten better. But first impressions are important.

I did enjoy the baked macaroni and cheese and fried plantains very delicious . Sadly there were cheap with the mac and cheese . The oxtail and rice and peas I didn’t care for too much the oxtails were very small didn’t have much meat on it and it wasn’t seasoned very well tasted very plain and underwhelming . The rice and peas wasn’t very good either it tasted a bit watery to my b.f and I . But I would order macaroni and sweet fried plantains by itself because that actually tasted really good .

Soon as u walk in it smells like a yummy Caribbean paradise! Everything I got was on point. Curry goat, tender… BOMB, Collard greens were a little salty but flavor was definitely there. My ppls got fried chkn which they said was delicious! Both combos came.w/ rice & peas with your choice of side & gravy over rice. Clacken’s are doing it right I’m telling u. I’ll definitely be a returning customer!

I ordered take out from this place off of Uber Eats. And it went right into the trash! Horrible ox-tail. All hard fat. Couldn’t even remove it from the bone. Rice and collard greens have enough salt to kill a small town of people. Corn bread was tasteless, dry, and old, very light yellow in color. It broke into several pieces when trying to pick it up. STAY AWAY. The cook clearly doesn’t care and it shows. Don’t get sick eating here.
