This was our family’s first time ordering from this location. The last few reviews are worrisome, so I thought it important to share my experience. We ordered pickup. The person on the phone taking my order was polite and repeated my order back for accuracy. The order was ready within 20 minutes and was a $60-$70 order. The food was delicious. The chicken cheesesteak was my personal favorite also the wings. I’m not a big cheesesteak kind of gal because I’m extremely picky with the type of steak used , this didn’t disappoint.

I ordered my food and received it on time no issues there. I check my sandwich and it was made incorrectly. I call back for them to correct it. They were cool about it. They said they will send the driver out and to give them the original. I call back to add a fry that I was going to pay for simply bc my original will be cold. They told me no they can’t bc it’s considered a delivery and it’s not enough for the fee? Whattttt? Then the young lady actually uses her critical thinking skills and says well I can ring it up and just hand it to him. As i proceed to almost read my card numbers, someone in the back is telling her she can’t. So not only did you mess up my food, I now have to wait for another sandwich while my fries sit and turn ice cold, plus I’m willing pay it. You can’t simply hand the delivery driver my fries when redelivering? After my original order was over $60. Yea I’m not happy! And this just happened !

Stopped in for a weekday lunch at Claymont Steak Shop. Ordered a small (10”) cheesesteak with fried onions and crushed hot peppers and a side of fries. The steak consisted of a large amount of finely chopped meat with a slightly underwhelming amount of cheese making the top meat pretty dried out. The hot peppers added a good kick to every bite. The fries were steak fries and cooked and seasoned fairly well. Overall, it was pretty good but, coming from someone who lives in Philly, the cheesesteak was just alright.

Disappointed in the product of food. Ordered a cheesesteak fries and boneless wings. Order was $25.00 for low quality food. Chicken was very tough and the cheesesteak was just low quality. Steak fries were good.

Predictable and delectable is what you can expect from Claymont Steak Shops. I think these delicious cheese steaks are best eaten in house but they also travel well. We enjoyed a Cheasesteak Hoagie and a Chicken Cheesesteak. Both were loaded with meat and cheese. The team is really efficient at cranking out good food. The staff are nice with the cashier I talked with relating she started working at the Philly Pike location when she was a teenager. We love Claymont Steak Shops.

The nastiest cheesesteak I’ve ever had. My husband ordered a chicken cheesesteak and it had no flavor whatsoever, as soon as he picked it up from his plate it fell apart. The table where we were going to sit was dirty. This was on a Saturday, there was only one other couple dining in, I’m sure they had more than enough time to at least clean the place/tables. Don’t waste your time and money at this place.

Ordered cheese pizza with pepperoni. They skimped on the pepperoni, and the sauce was just unnecessarily spicy. I love spicy stuff on my pizza but when I want to share with my toddlers, I order something plain. Almost no one finished their pizza.

We used to dine here weekly, but due to the pandemic we stopped coming for awhile. We visited on 6/3 for dinner got 2 cheesesteaks and fries, we dined in, tables were dirty and sticky, I was in total shock when our food came out given 2 hot cheesesteaks with stone cold old fries. The whole atmosphere changed, the ketchup that sits out near the napkins tastes like spoiled ketchup. Workers smoking next to the back door. When you exit you’re smacked in the face with cigarette smoke. Delaware has a law in place about smoking near building entries. After the experiences with the Newark location mixed with this experience pretty much done with this business
