It was my first time here and they did not disappoint. If you don’t get anything at all at least get the chicken wings. They are flavorful and served hot. I had the red velvet waffles and chicken. The waffle was a little dry could have used more milk but overall the dish was delicious.

Food flavor was really good but my shrimp was really overcooked and hard to eat. I would’ve asked for it to be remade but it took almost 45 minutes to get them and it wasn’t that busy for such a long wait. I then ordered the lobster mash after seeing my friend with hers and it took an hour to get it I had to ask the bartender if it wasn’t ready could it be removed from the bill so I could leave and she came back with it but the problem was it wasn’t as fresh as the one my friend had just an hour earlier. We spent over two hours there and most of that time was waiting on the food.

Great experience, drinks were sooo good and food was season to perfection. DJ was amazing. Staff was friendly, especially Brittay at the Bar. Reservations are a must and show up on time. Great job to the owners for creating a menu that is diverse.

It was my first time going to the restaurant and I was excited because I’ve heard nothing but good things. We ordered a lemon drop tower, stuffed chicken, macaroni and cheese, and yams. The tower took about 20 minutes to come out, and when we received it the glasses were closer to empty than full. We both were enjoying our chicken, but half way through I realized mine wasn’t cooked all the way through. I was given some lamb chops and a proper lemon drop as an apology, but unfortunately I won’t be returning as I’m afraid my food will be undercooked once again. The macaroni and cheese as well as the yams were absolutely delicious though, and the chicken was good until I discovered it wasn’t cooked thoroughly.

I want to start by saying, I NEVER write reviews unless I have a really good or really terrible experience. Unfortunately this was a really bad one for me. For starters, we waited 30 mins before we were even approached or brought water. Then we ordered a bottle of champagne for mimosas and after waiting 45 minutes for it, the waitress came by and told us “she forgot” about the drink order & that she would get it out to us. It came about 15 minutes later. Our food came out 10 minutes after the bottle. So if you add that up, we waited nearly an hour and a half for our food. The food was amazing, the best thing about this place. I was going to let all of that slide because the food was so good. But, I get home and see that I was charged $185 when my bill was only $87. I don’t know how I got an extra $98 in charges. I can only assume the waiter gave herself an extra tip. No one at my table was given or offered receipts. I was also confused by the price difference on what I ordered was vs what I was told the bill was. I ordered shrimp and grits & a bottle of champagne. My order total was $65, but I was told the bill total was $87. I assumed it was gratuity, but even that seems to be more than typical gratuity (their menu says it’s 18% for party of 6 or more. We had 3 people at our table). Then to charge me nearly an extra $100 is unacceptable. I have never experienced something like this. But, I would highly suggest insisting on a receipt with a breakdown before letting this place charge you. Also, when they give you the machine to pay your bill, don’t give it back to them until your charge is finished. Or just pay with cash. I couldn’t wait to support this place because there aren’t many black owned spots here, but I definitely won’t be back after this.

This was our first time visiting and was super excited about the restaurant but was very disappointed. Very nice vibe especially the DJ during Brunch hours. Customer service was not pleasant at all. Our server never came back to offer refills on drinks. Food was over price, a kids size portion and we never offered or received an itemized receipt. Over all our experience was very dissatisfying. First and last time!
