What this place lacks in pure flavor and quality it has in variety. The food was SUPER good, but I have had better at other Japanese curry restaurants. Will definitely be coming back again! Note for people who love spicy food like me– level 4 is not spicy enough! It tastes like a mild spicy. Also I love that you can choose your spice level with so much range!

Coco Ichibanya in San Diego has exceeded my expectations and left an indelible impression on my taste buds. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm and friendly service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about the food they served, making me feel welcome and valued as a customer.

the food was bomb, i absolutely devoured everything. the atmosphere is peaceful cause everyone was just doing their own thing. service was also good. theres this button that you press to bring a waiter to your table, so they give you time to decide what you want to order.

The curry dish was ok to good. I guess lower prices would have helped since I don’t see the value here. We felt spice level 1 didn’t add spiciness; I would suggest higher level if you are looking for kicks.

Great place for curry. Ate at the one in Japan. Very similar. But, larger portions for the American one. +2 spicy was just about right for my spice level.

We ordered Vegetable Crocket with Vegetables, Garlic Naan, Garlic Naan with Cheese and Corn Salad. Everything was good, but I didn’t it to be as great compared to last time.

Amazing Japanese curry and Keema fries. The place is busy but the lines moves relatively quick. Make sure you go in and get on the digital waitlist. The service was quick and the servers were amazing. The parking can fill up because its in a smaller shopping complex with multiple other businesses.

As tasty as I remembered it in Japan 15 years ago! Excited to have a stateside option. Could have been served a little hotter(temperature) wise but otherwise it was fantastic! The kid’s meals let them try the curry but also plenty of other components to the meal to keep them filled up and happy.

I had the chicken cutlet omelette with an extra topping of vegetable croquette with spice level 9. It actually wasn’t spicy and I wished I had gone for level 10. Huge portions. However, the food got cold really soon and they weren’t that nice when they were cold. The veggie croquette seemed crunchy but it was served on top of the curry and that made it soggy.

We were so excited to try CoCo Curry in the US since we’ve only ever had it in Japan. The taste is similar, portions are a little bigger here. Service is fast! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because they didn’t have honey. In Japan, you can ask for honey to put on top of your curry and it is amazing. If you go here, bring a honey packet- you will thank me later.
