A short Uber ride from our airport hotel at Newark we stumbled upon Comet Pizza. A stupendous place for a pie. Awesome pie, awesome people, definitely try the mozzarella log, absolutely to die for, all of it! Super friendly owners, give you that at home eating in your own kitchen feel. I’m tempted to make a special trip back to Newark just to have another comet pizza pie. My kind of place.

This little spot was an absolute gem! Absolutely incredible pizza, including specialty options like buffalo chicken pizza. The chicken Parm is a must! There’s something for everyone on this menu, Don’t miss out on the mozzarella log! they even have a quiet area to sit and enjoy a meal with the family.

I had lunch with my family today at Comets Pizza . I am so happy that this place reopened. I grew up in Hillside and lived in the area many years. I am so happy to be able to support a family owned local business. We ordered the plain pizza, chicken parm, pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni, and fried calamari. The food was good and friendly service. Good luck with your business and looking forward to coming back soon.

This place is an institution in Hillside. A family business with amazing dishes and the same great taste I enjoyed for years. The mozzarella logs are amazing, garlic knots like you never tasted, pizza that will make you want to just eat the plates, pasta dishes with a flavor that’s out of this world. Comet has re-opened with new owners. Pizza was very good very similar to how it used to be made. This is a classic style pizza that always hits the spot. They now also have garlic which they didnt have before and I look forward to trying them next time. Service was polite and friendly. I’ve attached a picture of their current menu as of June 2022… Not sure if that will be changing.

I’ve been going to Comets for a LONG time and I was sad to hear that the previous owner were selling their establishment. When you ordered something from Comets, they made your food EXACTLY what you said and asked if you wanted certain things on your food. They did not add things on your sandwich that you didn’t say you wanted. My son and I both had a long day and was hungry. We ordered 2 Italian cheeseburgers from Comets under the ownership/management. I said I wanted one w/ mayo and the other no mayo just ketchup. I get my order and eat it at home and it had all these onions and peppers on our sandwiches. We did not want nor did we ask for onions and peppers! There were more onions and peppers than it was fries. And the burger looked rubbery, not fresh at all! I was soo disappointed. I called Comets and the woman said Italian cheeseburger’s automatically come like that. She didn’t apologize or try to make it right. And the sandwiches are twice as much money! What a waste of time and money! What a disgrace from the previous owners!

Ordered a half and half pizza to take back to our hotel room. Still hot and delicious 20 minutes later! Plenty of cheese and a nice crust. Friendly service and pizza was ready in a timely manner. Would come here again and again if we lived here!
