Since 1923, Coney Island Lunch was the dream of our grandfather, Greek
immigrant Steve Karampilas. He served
generations the same style Texas Wiener we’ve loved for years: an all-beef Berks hot dog split down the
middle, grilled to perfection, served on a National Bakery roll, topped with Düsseldorf mustard, diced
Spanish onions, and our world-famous chili sauce!
To this day, the chili sauce is made from the same recipe that Steve created more than 99 years ago. We are downtown Scranton’s oldest restaurant; others using similar names claim the same, but we are he same family and use the same phone number for 99 years!
Unfussy eatery doling out Texas-style hot dogs topped with homemade chili sauce since 1923. Based on 371 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.6 stars. Price $

To be honest, we came here because Season 7 episode 10 of “The Office” – cold open when Dwight insists on drinking hot coffee with his feet. The mug he uses is from Coney Island Lunch. But we found a gem! Simple menu, very reasonable prices, and fast friendly service from a restaurant that has been doing it right for almost 100 years. Love we will be regulars! Oh and makes sure to save room for dessert

I don’t know where to start.. the chili dogs are some of the best I’ve ever had. The hospitality was great. Even with a hot pot in front of us, they encourage us to try a coffee shop out in the park (Black Watch Cafe) just to further enjoy our visit to Scranton. We grabbed some pie to have later and it was great too.

Great coney dog … the chili is seasoned well and the dog is split in half and placed in a delicious bun. Not in the mood for a dog – the tuna salad is A+. Be sure toSave room for pie 😉

Arguably the best Texas dogs in NEPA! I was astonished as to how affordable and filling this diner was, or as I like to say “cheep and cheerful”.

Their food is amazing, especially the hot dogs! They’ve been a fixture in Scranton for as long as I can remember, and that says it all…their popularity has never faded.

Bronwynn, Connor, Pete…love you all! Great service. Sweet folks. Vibrant personalities. Food is delish. I am a total foodie and I was completely satisfied. I had to stop myself from ordering more and digging in my sister’s plate.
